Continue into chapter 2?
I've seen some screens with items from chapter 1 in the chapter 2 inventory, but there doesnt seem to be a way for me to continue playthrough into chapter 2. Is this intended?

Hey Shivrael, we're not really sure what you mean by that. Some items from episode 1 can be transferred into episode 2 but the this is done automatically where the game remembers which items you have in your inventory that are needed later on. It's based upon your save from episode 1, so when you start episode 2 the game searches for theses items and if you had them at the end of episode 1 you should have them in episode 2 as well.

Unfortunately that is not happening for me. When I complete chapter 1 it returns to the menu theater and I cannot get to chapter 2 without closing and relaunching from steam, at which point chapter 2 cannot see my save files.

Am I missing something?

Hopefully i won't spoil anything for you, but "The Red Cloth" is one of two items you can transfer into the next episode, the other one is "Lvl 6 Sword". Can you confirm you had either of these 2 items in your inventory when you finished EP1? If you did, you should start EP2, select new game and these 2 (or just one of them, depending) items should be with you.

I had both items in my inventory, but neither is available when I start a new episode 2 game. Is there any particular way I need to launch?

Weird, can you tell us what OS are you using? And also, can you try this: Load your last save in the game, play until the end of EP 1, Autosave should start on it's own now. After you finish EP 1 try running EP 2 (new game).

On the tablet it was windows 8, which I acknowledge is a stupid OS that causes problems. I'll try on my windows 10 pc today and let you know.

Interesting - I had this same issue, although I didn't know it was a problem until reading this thread. Ended episode 1 with both the sword and the red cloth in my inventory, and when I began episode 2, all I had was the Swiss Army knife.

OS is Windows 7. I never manually saved during episode 1.

I just started Episode 2 and also only had the Swiss Army knife. I had the red cloth and also the sword, but neither carried over. Windows 10...

Hey guys, it appears there's an issue on our end with the auto save which is causing items to not be properly transferred into the next episode. We are looking into it and it will be updated soon.

Hi everybody, we have fixed the issue with the data transfer from Episode 1 to Episode 2.

I also do not have the sword and red cloth when I start episode 2. I went back to Episode 1 and double-checked - I DO have those items at the end of the game. I restarted Ep. 2 but still don't have those items.
Is there a file update I can download?

Okay - I completed Episode 2 without the level 6 sword and the red cloth and I don't see any place where having them would have made a difference.

Hi BadDemographic,

Thank you for playing the game!

The game difference between having and not having level 6 sword and the red cloth is in the story and it does make a difference and variations in some of the dialogues through the Episode 2.

Regarding your report that you don't have those items at the start of the Episode 2, but you have collected them while playing Episode 1, here is some additional info about that:

I still do not have the sword and red cloth in episode 2.
I tried reloading episode 1 from the point where Amber and Ted go into the attic and talk to Brian. I made the document, gave it to Brian, (saved), entered Paper City and let all the credits roll.
In episode 2, after the dialog with Betty, I still only have the swiss army knife.

I tried uninstalling and reloading - in case my copy wasn't updated - and still do not have the red cloth and sword.

I'm running the game through Steam.

Is there a file I need to download separately? Is there something special I should be doing when starting episode 2?
I enjoyed the game and would like to see what I missed.
