This game is a certified cuck simulator. I was a big fan of the Author's work, like Anomalous Coffee Machine, but this is a glorified, hyper-niche visual novella about a husband (you) getting cheated on by his wife, Horu in a post-apocalyptic world, while getting patted on the back by the guy doing it. It's a project of the author's own issues and fantasies that, if you're not a fan of, would spoil your day as it did mine.

I bought this game without thinking, confident that it'll be a simple visual novel with mystery, horror, and sidelined NSFW elements like his other games. But this? This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If you liked ANC 1 and 2, chances are you won't like this game, because it does a character assassination of Horu, turning her from a quirky, mysterious, and chaotic character into a two-sided slut that doesn't appreciate her husband for no apparent reason.

I waited for new works and got this cuck bait junk FULL of this constant: Axton: "Why are you not mad at me? I sleep with your wife?" You: "I just want her to be happy, man, make her happier than i ever could"

Verdict: If you look for a game similar to the original ACM but better, try the Interdimensional Vending Machine; it has no NSFW but at least it has a nice gameplay loop, rather than this half-baked, miserable cuck bait: 2/10 and refound

It's short, your choices don't matter, and the version of the game I had downloaded from the patreon page had more story after the outbreak. Why was it cut from the full game? I am so confused.

I have been looking forward to this game for awhile now, I love the Dev's previous work with ACM 1 and 2, and was super excited for a more story focused game this time around. I always feel like the universe surrounding ACM was interesting, and Horu's weird and creepy personality would benefit from being expanded on. Um, after playing this game I kind of realized why there wasn't more narrative in those games.

As always, the art is very good. It was probably my favorite part. The characters use a limited color palette but still manage to look individual enough to be recognizable. I liked the sprites in the full hazmat gear, I liked the designs for Axton and Seira.
I also loved the horror when it appeared in this game, the dev is always very good at drawing body horror and this game is no exception.
The different gameplay sections were fun too! The quick time events were all a nice surprise to me.

As much as I wanted to see this dev tackle a narrative story, I believe writing is possibly their greatest weakness. The dialogue had no voice or personality to it at all, and felt super flat and unnatural. Every. other. line. Horu and Lennox called each other 'hon' or 'honey' which got. so old. Married couples definitely use pet names, but every other line was exceedingly excessive and was a very amateur dialogue writer thing to do.

The scenes never held much weight to them at all, I thought they were more like log lines / ideas for scenes that could have been GREAT if expanded on later. Like the dude with the infected girlfriend in the grocery store, the horror would have been more effective if the scene of him kissing her infected body lasted more than 2 seconds and we never got to know either of them. It kinda came off like a haunted house when a guy pops out from behind a curtain and goes "BOO!" for one second and then hides behind the curtain for the next guy.

I wish that we had spent longer at home, starving and watching infected people and police crawl around the neighborhood instead of 1 sentence of Lennox saying they needed to leave to find food/safety. I wish we'd seen Alora be unaware of the situation and confused/scared. I wish the dialogue options actually changed the story beyond quickly ending your game.
I wish there had been some build up to learning about the Doctor who created the disease, maybe a TV interview or something in the papers about him. His house and addition suddenly felt so out of place.

I finally just. closed the game and requested a refund after a random NTR / cheating scene with the DLC. like. it made zero sense, and felt totally out of place amongst the world falling into an apocalypse. Make no mistake, I love NSFW scenes. I LOVE erotic horror especially, but the way it was implemented was like the set up to some cheap porn video. It was very, very bad.

I know the dev has insane potential, the art and ideas and the horror is fantastic, but the writing was just so corny, so bad, it took away from everything else. There needs to be more care put into the narrative, good art and an idea can't hold everything up on it's own.
