Where is the manual?
First, not including even a basic PDF manual is really disappointing.

I'm playing the campaign and I've come across a map tile that has no explanation, called a "shredder". I'm pretty sure it does something bad to a unit standing on it, but some type of documentation would be nice.

Not really cool to let players figure out new mechanics for themselves through trial and error or save scumming as they encounter them.

It actually sais in the game what it does. But I agree, figuring out which buttons to press and what mode to be in to see all the information is not exactly self evident and takes some trial an error.

To view the info, make sure you switch the small minimap in top right corner to the information position (an "i" inside a circle). Then just mouse over the object or unit you want info on and read it in the top right corner.

Lack of actual manual is inexcusable.

Unless you play both of the campaigns, you won't know both your, and your enemies unit abilities.

Some mechanics also have to be deduced from the gameplay, like immediate clearing of a jam.

In game hints are not enough. E.g. when do you learn how many tiles you have to be from a spawn to force mandatory lurking?

The tutorial, and in-game hints, are pretty extensive and cover most of the game subjects, but they're not enough.

When I wake up the first terminator in the campaign tutorial the game will not let me switch to the newly awaken terminator. Is this me, my computer, or the game?

Unfortunately, this is becoming a standard. Companies rely on players making wikis with relevant info, and don't bother to release their games with proper documentation. This would be unthinkable in the 90s.
