I'd suggest picking Blood Angels or Space Wolves as your terminator chapter, you'll get some cards that are melee-oriented to play; these should drastically improve your melee chances.
Usually is not a good choice to melee with Marines. But sometime in little corridors or corners it can be a good option. My advice is to have 1 melee max if you play with one squad. And if play with 2 squad some missions need 2 melee but not more.
SH is a very good game and you need to practice a little bit more if you want to understand force and weakness of each race 😏
the card "the next melee strike hits with 100%" is the only card who drastically improve, i lost my rune priest in melee with psi +5 melee and the card +2 melee
Aelius is spot on. The game is what it is. Dont buy monopoly and ask to convert to hotel.
Also for those saying this is a beta. Well, its more an early access. At this point you are far from changing game concepts. Perhaps catch some bugs. So dont expect big changes in that sense.
So far Im loving the game. Its what I expected. Space Hulk.
Ya, w/e dude. We will see where this trails leads us in the end.
True but Ascension was single player only. This game feels like a better version of the first one which did have MP. In this one it seems it's true to the boardgame rules but the cards are meant to give you a way to make up for bad RNG. Even so someone wanting to go melee build on Marines isn't going to get anywhere.
You will be able to upgrade the cards added by Terminators during the missions, unlock new weapons dedicated to its class and find relic called "modules" for each member of the squad.
Space Hulk and Space Hulk: Tactics are both an adaption of the board game. Tactics has a twist to command points: Cards. Other than that the two games do the same. We can compare them. The winner is obvious.
Space Hulk Ascension (SHA) is an entirely different game. It transfers the concept of Space Hulk from boardgame to computer game. It is what Space Hulk can be without the limitations of a boardgame. For example: Ammo and heat counters for most ranged weapons are not feasible in a board game. They are in a computer game. SHA has them. The RNG is more detailed than D6.
Space Hulk:Tactics limits itself by the rules of the boardgame. Becasue of that the gameplay of SHA is far more detailed.
