"Server mod out of date" still!!!!

It's so annoying that this still happens on every server that use Shine (and maybe other mods?). Can't it be fixed? Mods worked with Quake 3 back in 1997 without a problem, maybe fix a game in 2013 so it can handle mods properly?

I have to do that every time I join a server with a new version and it still may not work. Very annoying to redownload every time etc. Not good enough. Broken = needs fix.

You should try to start steam as administrator.

Ever since the update, I've been either getting this or "Invalid Error" on my screen.

I've deleted the NS2 Workshop Folder, all the mods, I've verified cache, I've deleted the Steam ClientRegistry.blob just in case, I have run the game on lower settings just in case, I've tried a million different servers and yet I still consistently get "Invalid Error".

An I'm always set to Administrator. I never use UAC.

Also, not my Firewall, AV, or drivers. Or anything else. Just the last patch killed it for me. I'm going to delete the game now and reinstall it and see if it works. I'll post back. If it doesn't work, then it's down to UWE to fix it tbh.

Just deleted/uninstalled NS2 and installed it again.

Greeted once again with the message "Invalid Error" when trying to join a server.

I've changed nothing since the times I was able to play, but since the last update it seems to have broken itself and now it just unsolvable from my end. Fix the game please UWE.

My game fails in the custom content downloads and consistency checks. If it's a Steam Workshop problem then UWE cant do much except change the game to allow manual download and install of custom content and bypass Workshop troubles.

I've also noticed that the game crashes a lot, in particular when I enter Gorge tunnels. Ive seen this problem posted in other forums, looks like a regression error in 256, because it was working OK (still crashed randomly sometimes) in previous versions.

Server mod - The problem is about SERVER-SIDE
All mods are reloaded / updated only at a changemap !
Now with Shine administration (up of 26 sept) it's automated update when server is empty.
In others cases ; you need to wait for the next map to join

It has been like this for 2-3 weeks now. No map changes, empty servers or restarts in that time? I dunno.

Well for me, it's UWE and the last NS2 update. So I'm waiting for them to release yet another patch.

I'm not simply saying this for the sake of it, but it seems quite a few folks have this issue. Like I said before, I've not done anything to my NS2 install, but since the last patch I cannot play.

I've literally done everything I can do, so now I have to leave it in the hands of the devs.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue, but I had something similar happen to me right after the patch. All I did was disable all the mods from the main menu, and join a server -- was able to play again.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me :( after getting one of the errors about mods, it just ended up saying Invalid Error. However now that is all I ever get. Invalid Error x infinity. :'(

unsubscribe all your mods in the workshop and delete the workshop folder in the ns2 appdata folder
at least that should getrid of those mods

Unsubscribing, removing the mods and/or reinstalling the game does not work, no. Will people just please stop suggesting that.
