Server mod out of date. (doesnt go away)

I keep getting this error. In spite of what many write in forums that the problem will pass once the server changes map. This has persisted for a week or so now on 90% of the servers. This seems to be mostly the Shine-related mods, but might be others as well. Is the server not updating? Why is my version newer?

I am now restricted to play only servers without mods. Kids! This is exactly why you don't rely on a single provider for your mods downloads. Steam (obviously) isn't a good way to solve it. Why not have links for manual download and install instead?

Overall, game is fun, but this problem makes me avoid, which is sad since I spent money on it.

Same problem... I really like this game, but it generally takes me a solid 5 minutes to find a server I can join. Moreover, there's no way to flag / temp remove servers you can't join, so it's 'wash-rinse-repeat' every time... will have to check if there's a way to 'favorite' a server once in-game.

Figured this out:

At game start, go into the 'Mods' section and click 'get mods' at the bottom left. It'll take you to a new screen in Steam where you can subscribe to mods. Search for and subscribe to 'NS2Stats' and 'Shine Administration'. Make sure they're also toggled to 'Active' in the game's mod menu. Restart so it syncs, and you should be good to go.

I tried that, didn't work. What I have found to work is to delete all mods, connect to the server that failed (with that error message) previously and it will download and work. As of late things seems to be working tho, so this might have been fixed. Dunno.
