What does the Pax Code do?

So a while back either Pax East 2011 or Pax East 2012 I got a code for NS2 in my swag bag. I didn't have NS2 then because it wasn't out and still in beta, but now that I bought the game what exactly does this code do? I used it a long while back so it's on my account and I can see it under things I have, I'm just wondering what is it I got.

Well, what does it say it is? Like, when you go on your account page to see purchases/codes applied. It should say more than just "Natural Selection PAX code".

You get a PAX icon on your nametag in game when someone looks at you from up close.

Actually that's ALL it says. It's a small square one side says SPECIAL PAX DLC, the dev logo and under that is the code. The back side has the NS2 logo and the website.
