How do I increase my dedicated video RAM?
Im pretty noobish when it comes to computers and I figure plenty of others on this forum are in the same boat. When I went to go look at the requirements I was at the recommended for all of them except for one. Dedicated video RAM.

Ive been doing some research on how to improve it but I just cant seem to find a straight answer.

Maybe its my lack of patience or I just need to flat out go to bed but whatever.

Any help is appreciated.

You have to buy a new video card. You can't increase video memory with out doing a video card upgrade. If your on a laptop your screwed.

video card memory is just something you cant upgrade. its in the card. only way to upgrade is to buy a different card with more of it. just as the person above me said... dont know why i had to say it a second time... lol

Well I am on a Nvidia 780, I have 3GB of VRAM(It used to say RAM HERE) and when I use r_stats the highest Ram Usage I ever see is 1GB but most of the time its no higher than like 200Mbs. In addition to that with my AMD 1090t I only get like an average of 50FPS. When it should be much higher than that.

-Flug- make sure your computer and your game is actually using your video card. It sounds like you're running on integrated video, sorta (sorta because I don't think your integrated graphics would get you 50 fps...).
Flug Jan 2, 2014 @ 5:49pm
Not to sound rude, but an Nvidia 780 is not integrated. It performs almost indentical to the Titan, minus the Double Precision and 3GB less VRAM. My computer has a 1090t Six core CPU, 12GBs of Ram and a Nvidia 780 that has 3GB of VRAM.
Oh sorry lol I should have typed VRAM when I posted. Lol that was my fault on part was a bit confusing.

Hey, hey, hey, read my post again. What I said was it *sounds* like it's running integrated, from your VRAM usage. But I doubt integrated would get you 50 fps so... There's obviously a problem there and that was just what came to mind.

Yea, I just launched the game again just now. Going to see how things are going. I didn't mean cause a problem, I'm just trying to figure out why when I have more than enough power the game is giving me 50 average but its giving me spikes here and there to 20.

Technically you cannot increase video ram on your card.

You can however in BIOS tell yourself to share some of your system memory with your video card.

this game is mostly cpu dependant... my old radeon 4870 could run this game better than 50 fps... its that garb cpu u have bro..... lol

not only is the cpu slow... but the gpu AMAZING GPU U have is def bottlenecked sad really what a waste :(

I've seen up to 1,995MB of video RAM used on my graphics card! Insane

\OK, I think you may be confused here my gaming bro.
1) Can you play game with maxed out setting(perhaps u dont need anisotropic filtering and multisampling if you don't have 100% eyesight, like me)?
Multisampling is not option for game, but rather your video card driver.(at least in Linux multisampling is not option of game)
2) Does it not drop often below 30 FPS? "r_stats 1" -console command for testing. Just join spectator and see how FPS goes. "~" - is to open console and close it.
3) You got other games that also act funny?
4) What do the fox say?

If you can't answer 2 of question positively - I don't think you need to worry.
Game is amazingly optimised for FPS. I have made tests in benchmarks, when i see 30 FPS - it looks much worse, by means of FPS perception than in this game.

1: recommended doesnt mean max with no lag...
2: 30fps is trash. any thing lower than 60 is laggy and for an fps makes a difference just saying.
3: i agree avbout aa and what not i think it makes the game look like garbage and with it turned off i gain 10% fps lol so win win

1) Agreed, but than its legetimate reason for upgrade anywayz :P
2) What i meant is - does game go below 30 FPS often? I was spectating game for a while, and on ocasions fps dropped to 30, but even then, there was no major lag in image flow! In some games/benchies, 30 FPS could be calculated from like 2-3 seconds, where one second it's 90FPS and second 10 FPS. If in this game FPS goes ocasionally to 30 - no big deal.
3) On big with 1024P I don't think Multisamopling is any more noticable/necessary. This is more true to smaller screens. And there are no big opened spaces, where antialising could be taken advantage of.

i have a 22inch 1080p multi makes it look washed out imo and lowers my fps by a nice 10% lol so i leave it off

Hmm, seems like it was the fact I was folding at the time when I was running the game earlier where it wasnt using all the VRAM. It runs alot better. Swarley either you are still in middle school or do not know how to type. And if you have come proper criticism to give on my computer please give some. I know the differences of running a i5 from Intel or a AMD CPU. And no this cpu isn't "Garb Bro" Based off the benches of the newer Bulldozer CPUs or this one their isn't much a difference. Plus I use the 6 cores for things other than gaming so it benefited me. Is my CPU Faster than a Core2Quad? Yes. Is it comparable to a i5 from a few years ago! Yes. Come on. If you take offense to that then, ok. I cannot really tell if your post was trolling or just ignorant. The game still should run better but I think its a computer issue, in this case it was folding.

I'm interested what this really means, please elaborate?

Oh and I am curious what CPU you have.
