Soldier Customiziation

There is an option for soldier and alien customization but there are no options
is this how the mods get selected?
or can you actually unlock stuff?

You need the required content to use player customization, for example the reinforcement shadow badge giving Marine, Skulk, Lerk and Gorge armour. The Kodiak pack giving Skulk, Exo, Marine and Rifle camo.

I'm supprised they made customizing only availiable ingame, rather than on the main menu. I get being able to do it in game so you can customize on the fly, but for those that want to tinker with it for longer times just use up a server slot not doing anything
