will the pop grow? should I buy?
I played this NS2 back when it was first released and absolutely loved it. My only reservation was that the community was small. I didnt buy the game, just played on free weekend.

So now I will ask the question thats probably been asked before. Is there more players coming in than going out? Its mid saturday right now and there are ~550 people playing the game. I do not want to buy the game and then shortly thereafter realize there arent many to play with.

There aren't too many people playing, but a game only takes 12-24 players. You're in the US, you should have a few servers that will almost always have players and good ping.

It may be small, but there's still alot of servers going around. I can guarantee that you will find good servers.

I doubt the population will grow, but the game is pretty fun and if you're interested in buying it, do it. It's a few hours of good fun until you realize how terrible the community is, but by then you've got your money's worth.

Wait for a sale or so keep a close eye on the game and wait when its 75% off its definetely worth it, just pay attention when it comes.

The population will probably not grow by much, that being said, this game has a lot of people who plan to stick around. It isn't going to be dying off anytime soon. The only thing you'll have to worry about is seeing faces mulitiple times. :P

The population has trouble growing because people can easily get "stomped" by vets, and it's hard to learn. The game lives off of people who have passion for the game. Though it is worth it to stick around and become a vetren yourself, because that's when the games get good. :D

Game is kinda dieing, but it's still great. There are enough epople to play with, so it's fine. Buy it, it's worth one thousand dollars.

I envy the servers of the US...its depressingly small in AU.

I've always had a fun time playing online, then again I add people and get to know them

But I use to play the original NS1 mod for half life back in the day, so my opinion of the game is a little biased because I loved NS1

If you think this game is hard to learn you should try NS1, it's even harder

Long story short, it's a small community because some people just can't get to grips with it

Will the population grow? No.

The only two FPS I can recall in the passed that have seen any type of significant growth after being released for a good time are CS:GO and TF2. They were generally doing fine but then saw a substantial increase when they released all the custom skins/marketplace items/drpos for the marketplace (and of course being F2P).

So I'd say, unless this game goes F2P, then not a chance on Earth it ever sees substantial growth. And being the game was in a the Humble Jumbo Bundle as part of the $1 tier, I'd say that even if it went F2P the population may not grow that much.

I wouldn't touch this one unless you have a bunch of friends playing already.

I wish if this game was back in patch 248 or back in time becuase this game was the ♥♥♥♥ and good back then but now i'm getting bored of this game more then i play World of Warcraft that game is still bored becuase I DONT feel like leveling...

NS2 is still great but vets need to know not to go Rookie servers becuase vets know this game has the steep learning curve and the vets on green servers are toxic for stomping on rookies plus this game is sadly dying but players are still on which some of them bad each time i go on a server and go to a team that is losing..

This game is sadly dying slowly and... I cant play it any more becuase all the servers i try to join its up to like 25/25 players...... I wish to play it if it becuases good with them updates i mean they need to make good updates just to atract players back to this game.....

I have no trouble playing Euro servers as a North American. I find lots of servers full of people at any hour. This is my main game atm if that gives any idea.

Player population is most likely not going to grow, since this isn't your generic gears of duty 4: MLG 420 no-scope alien boogaloo.

That being said, I do enjoy this game immensively, and atleast in Europe there's plenty of servers to choose from. And there's plenty enough players to fill them too, to the point where I kinda have to wait a bit to get to the server I want to play in.

About attidute towards new players? Can't really say I've had a bad experience. Players do seem to be quite willing to answer questions and help.
