Can't download mods

When i try to connect to a server with mods, i can see my client tries to download but just gets stuck in a repating failure loop and eventually times out and i get a connection error.

Any idea what is going wrong?

I did some googling and it was suggested the steam workshop servers cannot handle load during steam sale... but a Dev wrote that a workaround was due to be implemented and that was back in 2015

Valve recently changed their API without warning, making it impossible to download mods from workshop. Many servers have workshop backup servers running, which will let you download mods from it directly without needing workshop. Try a different server?

The NS2 dev team have basically been working on a fix for this non-stop for the past 2 days.

Yeah I cant join ANY servers because no one wants to run a unmodded server for some reason!

It hasn't Mods stull show up as a random seris of numbers and letters for a lot of people that are forever stuck on "getting info".

Please try deleting your workshop folder.
Go to "%appdata%/Natural Selection2" in explorer, and delete the "Workshop" folder from there.
