Why no Online?
I was recently looking for an Online way to play Stratego and it is unfortunate that this release on Steam doesn't offer that.

I agree. And the game-strategic would be a lot better if I could place the pieces on the board myself. This is more like minesweeper and not Stratego

You can change the pieces position in the normal game. I agree this game should be online and hopefully will be added later.

It's like other board games that released on steam with no online multiplayer, like Monopoly and Risk. For some reason these companies don't think multiplayer is essential for games that people usually play to have fun with other people. It's just boring playing alone.

It cost money to run servers so it's not worth it for them

It will cost them money in development time only. They could make the game peer to peer so they wouldn't need a whole bunch of servers. If they ever do incorporate mp or even hot seat , I will be buying it, until then, another disappointment.

The old Colonial Conquest was released a year or two ago and they didn't bother with mp and that game died on day one. But who knows, maybe enough people squawk and they add it.

That lew pulsipher game is more or less the same thing but has multiplayer.

No, because it´s gone.
Not keeping it alive for at least 10 years for paying customers was kind of a scam.
