Not really bugs, but:
One of the tips has a typo: "Momentum is conerved..." should be "conserved"

Also, when I click play official levels, it would always take me to the middle screen (levels 30-60) when I was just starting levels 1-30.
It would be better if you were taken to the highest level you have unlocked.

Thanks for another awesome and challenging platformer!!! I look forward to seeing what else you might add to this game (if you add to it like you did with Just Get Through)

Thank you, I'll fix the typo with the next patch.

Regarding the level screen, it will always take you to the last level you played.
So if you are already on level 50 but played level 20 just for fun it will take you to level 20 the next time you open the level select.

Thank you for your kind words, really appreciated :)

I wrote quite a lot of text, but I'm hope you'll read it all since it's about bugs and problem aspects of the game. Maybe I shouldn't post it all on Bugreport Thread, but I don't want to split my massage.
This text may also look like a complaint or a scolding but it's not.
Actually, I find this game pretty good despite the fact that it has some drawbacks. And I'm really surprised that it's little-known.

1) Ragequit (Alt + F4) are not working. It's closing the game, but achievement are not unlocking.

2) If put Spikes on Dropping Walls they will fall together. But the place, where was Spikes are still killing player.
http://imgur.com/a/BNR8F http://imgur.com/a/iiZNn http://imgur.com/a/QnuGz

3) Wall in my level become invisible, yet it's still there. http://imgur.com/a/7Io1G

4) I've created a level. It's completing time are not depending from player and it ALWAYS 6.833 seconds. I tested it a lot, make sure it works fine, and then I've published it at Steam Workshop.
Of course I wanted to go it first, so I've subscribed on it in Workshop, and ran it in USER LEVELS.
I've completed it without problems, but then I've noticed that time become 6.850 for some reason. Then I restart it (R) to look if there was some bug. And I couldn't finish it.
The reason is that "trap" with laser, I'm timed well to make character pass on, becoming impassable. Maybe this bug happened because I was needed to move laser on not fixed position (using Shift), or because of previously noted time deviation.
I've got this problem in place, where all was fine in LEVEL EDITOR. After restarting it without loading I've always got this. Only first runs after loading level was going well from time to time.
It's sure problem with level editor or game itself, because it's was made by me that way, that player don't move through this trap faster or slower. It's always fixed time.

But it's not a main problem. I have deleted this level from workshop, and change it the way it give more time for player. Then I've tried to publish it again and got message, that I'm can't do it - "Error: This level was published before. (and so on)"
The level, I spend few hours on creation, is fully lost for me because of this meaningless nonsense.
And where the location of game save files? I wanted to try fix it by myself, but I couldn't find it. After all this I'm not surprised anymore why there are so few user levels.

Also game was crashing almost all of the time in Level editor when character was dying.
I was getting this error message:
___________________________________________
############################################################################################
FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object oGameOver:

REAL argument is unset
############################################################################################

called from - gml_Script_game_over (line 3)
called from - gml_Object_player_Destroy_0 (line 24)
called from - gml_Object_player_Collision_30 (line 23)

And I was sometimes getting another one while changing video quality in the settings:
___________________________________________
############################################################################################
FATAL ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object backgroundobj:

I64 argument is unset
############################################################################################

5) It's good that there are option for cleaning level after restarting, but there should be another one for instantly removing targets corpses after killing. It's fatal for the game like this since I even can't locate my character current position because of this sometimes.

6) Achievements about creating levels. Well, I'm know where it came from. They are good to involve players in game community and increase overall game content. But it also have huge opposite effect. I'm come with the real example. Game ICHI.
It's also have some achievements that move players to create their levels, and it worked fine at the beginning. But when amount of players increased a lot it's become a real disaster. People, who wanted to get achievements was just spamming simplest levels in huge number.
And creations made with soul and care was dissolved in ocean of rubbish. It's become really hard to find any good levels.

People who want to create levels will do it even without achievements, and it's the moment where quality is much better then quantity. Though "nice" levels is quite a good move. But they still can be spammed by following condition for "nice" levels. As I did.

My suggestion is to leave only achievement for creating 1 "nice" level. It should be optimal.

7) The last one thing. Beeftacular Veteran. Complete 30 speedruns. WHY!? Ok, thanks that we don't need to repeat the same levels again and again and again and again for 100 times now. But it's still unreasonably too much. You can easily change this achievement in a name of Xerocus, because he is ONLY one player who have done it, and I'm sure that we wouldn't met any other speedrun lover like him in a year or two.
Other "players" was using cheat programs like SAM for unlocking achievements. It's can be seen in Global Leaderboards: only 3 players have done even ONE speedrun http://steamcommunity.com/stats/491620/leaderboards/1329280

If be honest, it's one of the worst achievement idea I've ever seen. There are no different or random moments in levels. It's have bad replayability in this way. If you want to make some "final" achievement, you should add few EXTREMELY hard levels, that are opening only after beating Experienced and Speedrun modes. It'll be fair and right.

Well, it's DEVELOPERS decision about achievements of course, but I'm sure that they have no moral right to adding anything like this if they don't completed and experienced it by themself.
I'm saying it because I'm often see this situation: I'm playing game and find that there are some really long, grindy or hard achievement in the game. I'm going to developer profile to look how long it approximately should take for 100%, and find that they don't even get it!

I'm do believe that you have completed at least one full speedrun in non-Steam or test versions of the game, but not 100 (first amount) and not 30, after creating the game, right? Stat says that I've started my own level 571 times and finished it 60 times. But it's not the same, if I was needed to complete it 60 times.

If there was no one, who unlocked this achievement I'm would suggest to remove it from the game. But there are one man... MAN!, who got it and he have full right to be against it. It'll be great if he'll be ok with it. It's good to ask him, if you'll heed and agree with my proposal.

P.S. Yes, many of my words are about achievements. It's important for me. I'm like to getting 100% in games, and I'm ready to make more effort for this. But I'm not asking to make them easy to get. Just want reasonable requirements :happybeef:

Hey, thank you very much for your detailed feedback.
I'll try to look into your reported bugs and problems asap.

To your first point: Did you press Alt + F4 after you got a Game Over because you died or ran out of time? Because then it should work...if not it's steam's fault and you need to try again later or it will be unlocked later. Also make sure it's an official level.

2) I'll take a look at this. Looks weird.

3) I could need more information about that one. Do they become visible again after placing another wall? Because then all walls should get redrawn. Also, what type of wall was that?

4) I will also look into this one. Sounds like there is some tiny bug in the way lasers are getting saved and loaded.

Regarding the publishing of your already created and published level. You can use the dev console for that.
Try opening by pressing "~" or "^" or "Page Down" (depending on what kind of keyboard u have)
and then enter "saveasnew", this will generate a new ID for your level and you will be able to publish it again. But of course this will also remove the current world record for this level.

I will also take a look at your crash report.

5) This sounds like a good idea for speedrunners.

6) I understand your point, but there are still not nearly enough custom levels available. Bad levels can be banned when they get to many thumbs down. Once the workshop is really trashed by bad levels I will consider changing these achievements, but I just hope this wont happen.

7) Yes. This achievement was intended for people who actually liked this game and to reward them for playing more than what is minimum. Considering good players can complete a speedrun in less than 20 minutes 30 speedruns isn't even *that* much.
But I also understand that people like you wouldn't want to do this.
I don't have all achievements because I played the game a lot before achievements were even implemented and before it was working with steam, so I'm already quite tired of it. I'm also not very good a platformers but I had a few platformer enthusiasts that helped me with balancing Beeftacular.
Now, since I take feedback very seriously I will think about changing this achievement to an even lower value, something with one digit. But I will not remove it.

Thank you very much again and I hope you keep enjoying Beeftacular

EDIT: You can check the unstable channel for the latest build that already addresses most of your reported problems.

I've changed Game Skin on Default, back basic Graphics settings, and tried it again.
Official levels. I was pressing Alt+F4 after getting Time Over, You Died messages.

level 1: Time Over - not unlocking.

level 2: Time Over - not unlocking.
You Died - not unlocking.

level 3: Time Over - not unlocking.
You Died - not unlocking.

level 50: Time Over - not unlocking.
You Died - not unlocking.

level 70: Time Over - not unlocking.
You Died - not unlocking.

level 90: Time Over - not unlocking.
You Died - not unlocking.

Maybe it's because of crashes? I was getting them before I've tried to press Alt+F4.

It's simple Wall block. This ONE wall block are always invisible in both Level Editor and User Levels modes now. By the way it's happened right after 1.1.0.4 patch.
Try to play this level yourself. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=882339968

Thanks! It's worked.

6),7) answer section: You are the one to make decisions. I'm just glad that you heard me =)

Thanks, I got it. I will release a patch very soon.
Retrific  [developer] Mar 12, 2017 @ 12:50pm
Alright, I think I got everything now.
I'm publishing Patch 1.1.0.5 now which should fix basically everything you mentioned.
I also changed the speedrun achievement to only need 5 speedruns instead of 30. I'm not going lower than that.

Thank you for testing! You should work as QA Tester ;D
Anyway, I hope everything works now. Enjoy :)

Thank you for great work again, but there are one more bug. Projectiles don't hit targets. I've noticed only two moments for all the time, so it's a very rare occasion.

Just happened again when I was beating Xerocus custom level lol. http://imgur.com/a/munTD

Did this happen when you were for sure on the correct height with your character or maybe while jumping/falling? Because it's possible that you actually didn't hit them. Because after colliding with a wall the projectile get's repositioned until it looks "right" which can lead to offsets from the actual impact position. Which then can look just like that.

But there could also be some bug, I'll take a look at it for sure

Ran this level again to take tests. And it happened on the first try. This time I was on the ground for sure.
Just was turning Left -> Right very fast before shooting. http://imgur.com/a/bzL6p
ANZ Mar 13, 2017 @ 12:22pm
Yep, the reason is fast turnings. Managed to make 2 projectiles "missing" for one play xD

ANZ Mar 13, 2017 @ 12:32pm
Sorry, not only turnings is reason for this. It's also happens when I'm not moving at all. But rarer: only every 5-7 tries.
ANZ Mar 13, 2017 @ 1:01pm
look like this problem is bigger than I expected. If it's help I've done one more video. (it's happens 3 time there)
