What happens to my stuff when I die?

So I died with a pebble, made my way back to my corpse and all my stuff is gone. What's the point of reviving if I can't get my stuff that i spent all my XP and resins on?

Items are not disappeared, If you revived you can search a new equipment and try to return all back. If there was any artifacts it's worth it.

If you revived, you can get some back up gear and go hunt the monster that killed you, who should have your equipment. If there were any artifacts it is worth it.

If memory serves I died to a mosnter that one shoted me with my main gear, so going back was pointless in my case.
