some thoughts on the demo
hello there!
so, just now, i have just tried to play the demo, and yes, i am aware this game is in early access-- in a demo format, and i have come across some things that are pretty frustrating for me, and probably will be in the upcoming updates if not dealt with.

> movement of dragon
the way the dragon moves is slightly frustrating. he moves more than you would like him to and it makes it difficult to get close to the sheep and peasents. if the steps he took were some how.. smaller, i guess you could say, it could make it less aggravating to deal with. not to mention the controls are also pretty wonky, not sure how to explain that, though.

> controls
sadly, since i am a laptop user (and i use a touchpad, not a regular mouse), i cannot use the flame attack, as it requires the middle button normally used to scroll, and a laptop does not have that. so, due to this, i was unable to progress in the demo as far as i wanted to.
if we had an option in the settings to change the controls, that will make peoples' lives a lot easier as they play the game.

thank you for reading this, and good luck on the release next month!

Oops - my bad. I didn't get notifications for discussions. Looks like I didn't specify the keyboard controls well enough. Ctrl, alt, shift are the 3 attacks using the keyboard. You can plug in a compatible controller too (like Xbox controllers) - it'll just get detected and work.

It's really quite simple, and the control scheme is laid out throughout the beginning quite easily. I wasn't confused and from my experience the only thing that frustrated me was that I didn't make the jump out of my cave and fell. (How embarrassing!)

I suppose for controllers that the movespeed would be harder to control, seeing as how with the mouse and keyboard I am a godlike figure. But, I don't know if it's worth changing. People will grow accostumed to it via more playtime. Though without a mouse, that sounds like a personal problem. However, changing controls is a commonality that is almost always a feature. (I'm looking at you consoles!)

I can't get high enough to get out of the cave...I quit. :( As for the mouse, it only seems useful for the fire and stuff, no directional usage at all. I would rather use my mouse to steer my dragon than trying to use the keys.

Nice artwork for it though.

you can do 2 things to get out of the cave: 1) the second rock has the instructions - when grounded, press fly, then jump to get more altitude. 2) you can also wall jump when flying - that is explained a little later in the level.
