Wolfpack

I've been playing Wolfpack since release. I've played almost every sub simulator on the market going back to my IBM 486 days (I'm 60 years old). I thoroughly understand submarine operations.
That being said, I have never played a "locked" lobby while hosting. I open the boat to all because I know operating the sub is confusing to most players at first. I like showing guys how to play to build the player base. There are most likely a lot of players who stopped playing Wolfpack because they believed it was too hard or a crappy simulation. Countless guys have come on my open boat and I've showed them how easy it is to get a good solution and/or escape and evade detection or attacks by the escorts. It's cool to me when the lightbulbs pop up over a players head (figuratively) after they've understood how to set up the TDC or how to trim the boat, etc.
My problem is the new players who have NO IDEA what they are doing taking command of a second submarine and ruining the game for our boat by being detected or attacking the convoy while our submarine is vulnerable. We work for twenty or thirty minutes to get a solution and an optimal attack position only to have everything go down the drain due to some random knucklehead. Why do guys do this? Why on earth would you go on a submarine by yourself in a multiplayer game only to mess things up for the other guys?
I always write a short blurb on my lobby page inviting new players to come to our boat and I can show you all the tricks. If there are five players on our boat every time I would understand. This is not the case however. There is almost always an open spot. Even then, if you don't know what you're doing you should stay on single player till you get the hang of things.
When you see the world famous TommyGuns boat, don't hesitate to come onboard. I allow everyone to do any station they want. I don't even fire torpedoes, I let others do it.
I want guys to get good at this simulation. It's really simple to sink these ships and live if you only took the time to get some instruction. Once you learn the tactics, THEN you can have your own boat and we can coordinate attacks using a couple of different methods I use for multiple submarine operations.
Again, come on my boat and I'll have you pinning on your dolphins in no time flat.
Just because you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night does not qualify you for the captaincy.
Rant over.

Solution Propose:
Add slider to game setup (for host)
which specifies NUMBER OF SUBMARINES IN GAME
Host can select 1, 2, 3 how many wanted by host

Then for TommyGuns game
TommyGuns host selects only 1 submarine
ensure TommyGuns playstyle game

I think some times only 2 submarines is good too
and other times all of them

WOLFPACK SIZE SLIDER is possible call this or think this

Yes, that would work. I want the developers to stay on the roadmap though.
It's easy enough to simply "Kick" the offender. I don't like "Kicking" people. I just wish they would come on our boat so we can coordinate at least.

Hi Tommy, hope you don’t mind me butting in here with an OT question..
Does Wolfpack allow kibitzers on the boat? IE, someone who can see and hear everything but NOT speak or be able to push controls?
I’d love to get into the game but I’m in rural Australia and our internet is terrible - ping rates of over 400 and horrific lag. But I’d like to just watch.
Or, do people post YouTube’s of their good games?
Thanks

I will start a game right now if you like. Discord on the phone or PC works well too if you know what it is/have an account. Discord was how we played Wolfpack before the in game voice. And yes, you can come on my boat anytime and not do anything. If I could communicate with you somehow I could show you some hard won tricks I've learned over the years.

That is very good of you, but timing would be tricky as I’m in Australia and I’m guessing you are in the USA?
I’d have to work out how Discord works too. Never used it. I’m really hampered by having a slow satellite dish. We are miles from town, no fibre optic cable, very slow connection. Cannot even get Netflix.

There are no spectator camera places. It has been asked for before, but since the developers like to keep things so you only have your personal viewpoint only and similarly that of crew seen by their own eyes, it is unlikely to get added. But who know what can change in the future.
