Radio Man BOT
Is there a way to request a hydrophone bearing from the radio man BOT ?

No. He just runs the radio. I do not use the bots generally, but I think when bots are turned on they give you bearings to the convoy. In any event, if you are soloing this game in preparation for playing with others - which is a valid exercise - you should consider turning the bots off. Even with the compressor in the rear, you can get everywhere you need to go to do all the things. It takes some practice, but it can be done without difficulty. That said, this is a game where fear of failure in public must be suspended. Just join one of the advertised games. Someone will train you. That's part of the game.

Colonel, yes, I'm trying to train myself solo before joining the ranks. 'Fear of public failure must be suspended' ..... I like that :) Your advice is sound.

The bots are giving information in the game chat about compressed air level, battery level and bearing of the convoy.
Normally just dive and you will get the bearing in the chat. If not, go a bit deeper like 30 meters and turn off all engines. That seems to help.
This information will come from the bot on the hydrophone. The radio man bot is doing the morse chat between the submarines.

i have been playing solo for the same reason. i dont't want to look like a total idiot. i at least want some basic understanding. considering i have no friends that play this game i have been hesitant to join any crews. shooter communities ruined all multiplayer games for me because of the toxic pricks

If you can make one of my Wednesday or Thursday games, you will find the captains uniformly non-toxic and very competent. We are happy to take completely raw players. Ad hoc crews form every game. It's rare that I get to play with my full regular crew. The captains integrate new players and fight the ship under time pressure. It adds to the difficulty. Training new players is a command function that must be fulfilled, even if the captain delegates it to the chief or the 1WO. Once you see what it is we are doing, you will be able to focus your solo play.

I soloed this game for three months (no bots) before I talked to anyone. That was fun for me but often frustrating. It was not until Gurudennis invited me to play, taught me what to do, and broke my slovenly habits, that I finally knew what I was doing. One of the brilliant things about Wolfpack is that like the real navy, precision and attention to detail, where it can be exercised, is hugely important. Join us if you can, and we will straighten you out. Leave any fear of public failure on the gangway in the pen at Lorient.

Hamsi ran a boat in one of my lobbies a few weeks ago. He did great.

I'm retired and can play at all hours.
I have been showing guys the tricks for a few years now. I'll be playing this week and you can come on anytime. It isn't hard and it is better in my opinion to have someone explaining things.
