Same here. I wanna be able to play solo, being "out there" at the sea for weeks without having to care about online-connection, server-status and the good-will of other people.
either bots or just a means to have universal control of everything from maps and UIs would be fine too
A: It is possible to launch the game alone. It is not impossible for a single player to man the U-boat at this point, but it is definitely not optimal since it requires a lot of running between the different stations.
We have decided to put rudimentary bots at #1 on the To Do List since this feature gets requested reccurently. However, Wolfpack is designed for co-op, and we hope you give the multiplayer aspect a chance. Our Discord Server is full of friendly and very devoted people, so don't hesitate to join it.
After attempting a few Solo plays.. I noticed so far..the only thing needed to "me" is a key command to lock that darn dive bubble before walking away..:) it seems to be the hardest part for me in single solo player.. I set it.. I go checkout the Hydrophone and before I return my boat is on the top of the sea for all to see.. if it would just hold fast with some key command, as if someone was there holding it..I could run around the rest of the boat and do what is needed.. maybe the same for the rudder..just some lock to setting key command.. I understand the reasoning they drift for "realistic" immersion and if crewed it keeps everyone busy. but not everyone plays well with others..:) Other than that..I know it is Early Access and I really enjoy what is available so far.. keep polishing this Diamond!!
Nothing "wrong" with having a normal and realistic setting in a game..
(When I have time, the rest of the crew sleeps and vice versa)
And a random crew? No thanks.
As you can see in many games BOTS are often better. Dependable ;)
A random Crew can not exist as functional TEAM.
CooP is a good idea.
But only for kids and people without work, family :/
The SIMULATION itself is TOP !!
Wanted for a long time. (still missing a tank simulation)
Missing the German language. So that the atmosphere is right ;)
Check out "Armored Front" here on steam or "Tank Crew - Clash of podaghorsk" (or whatever that is spelled).
That's a good description of what a single player option with a dash for dive, helm, and some basic sonar info would do for the game.
As far as your sub rising. Keep about 1/2 a notch of water in the negative tank. Better to have a little too much than not enough so you will slowly sink rather than surface. Best way to test your fine buoyancy is to come to a complete stop and adjust your negative tank. It's 1/4 to 1/2 a notch of water in the negative tank with both forward and aft tanks full.
If you want to have more control to ascend more rapidly using the negative tank to control your ascent and descent, put about one notch of air in the fore and aft main ballast tanks. Then you put about 1.65 of water in the negative tank. This gives you more room to let more air in the negative tank to rise faster when at a complete stop and not using dive planes.
