fore and aft diving pane coordination

To bring the boat up or down more effectively, should both panes be set opposite to each other? (one with the needle in the positive, the other with the needle in the negative)

Both needles should be same. (upwards at same time to get you up, vice versa)

Have you noticed that the front dive pane has a thicker part opposite to the needle? that is the direction of your dive pane.

The forward planes are used to change depth. The rear planes are used to control the boats angle. so if you want to change depth but keep the boat with a zero degree bubble you use the planes opposite, one up one down
