Green creature ate my car

Got onto the overworld and went into Ovok, only to find upon leaving where I left my car, one of the green creatures floating around decided to 'eat' the car (more like get stuck on it), and now my car is stuck in the green creature. I can get in and out of the car, but I can't drive it anywhere.

OK, that's strange. Went to Coton on foot, and when I left, the car was waiting outside for me. Weird, but at least it isn't stuck in/eaten by a green creature anymore. Weird that going back to the garage where I got the car and then leaving - which requires using the car on the map to leave - doesn't do that.
