CD version

It wont work. During the startup fase i get unhandeld exception errors. What do i do:
- I install the game from CD
- Install the 1.06 patch
- Install 1.08 patch
- Install 114 "patch"

To whatever compatible mode i set IG.exe / IGNT.exe (from win95 - win 7). the game wont start.
Im using Windows 7 64 bit

There are mods on the internet to allow the old cd version to work, think I last played that last year on windows 10.

You need to run game setting it's bellow where it read istall, witch then chance play afther this is done you can play the game

so got tired of waiting for Stgeam to fix IG2 and not being able to play multiplayer with my wife so reinstalled my classic CD version with all patches including the fan patch v 1.14 ....working great on windows 10 :)

I still use the old CD version, work fine on Windows 10 64 bits for me; installed fan patch 1.14, set IG2nt.exe compatability to Win 98/ME and Run as Admin, and it's done. No widescreen but the game run smoothly throughout 2 campaigns without problem.

If anything, it's better than when I played on Windows 7 64 bits, because Win 7 seem to cause blank cutscene from .bik video files the game used for some reason. Not anymore in Windows 10, every cutscene always play now. Now if I can figure out how to make it join online match with Steam version over the internet and it's golden.

actually there is a site to play online multiplayer and its active i tried it already still working its an IRC but it works :)

I confirm the CD version of the game is working without any tinkering except for one.

A process was blocking the setup on my computer, I had to follow a Youtube tutorial titled "Fix - Old Game Setup.exe Doesnt Open On Windows 10 or Windows 11" to go through it.

I'm using the french version.

No compatibility option needed.

Followed the pcgamingwiki page to get the patches.
