Imperium Galactica II

Imerium Galactica III?
I personally still prefer original Imperium Galactica (IG II always felt unfinished), but I do remember that originally, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident was planned as Imperium Galactica III, but due the lack of budget it ended up as it is right now.

Now I'm sure that you can finish finish and release Imperium Galactica III as was planned a long time ago. Go for it THQNordic, make us proud (and happy)!

/agree An IGIII would be great, so long as it stayed true to the original ideas and type of gameplay. Jupiter incident is rubbish imo and plays completley differently.

There is a real NEED for a game like this.

I concur! And will gladly and happily spend my money on it!

Isnt Haegemonia also made from the same team? It was also said to be IG3 in some way. It has also been a great game. Just as Stellaris has been inspired by IG2, Sins of a Solar Empire is inspired by Haegemonia ;)
But there has never been a real IG3, and I dont think there ever is going to be one. Just like there is never going to be a Master of Orion 3 (I know there is, but it is not really MoO3) ;)
Some games are just the fathers of new generations of games, but dont ever get a real sequel

There was an IG3 but it never went beyond a demo, which is still available.

I would also buy or support a kickstart for an IG3.

i wouldn't mind an IG3 either so long as it stays true to the previous two games.

Imperium Galactica III was going to be revolutionary, but then for some reason (I can't remember why) production stopped about half way through and got scrapped, sold, and that game became whats now known as Nexus: The Jupitor Incident

i am aware of the history, i have played nexus a few times but something actually IG3 only would be nice, DR is still around and with the assistance of THQ Nordic there is nothing to state that it still can't return as IG3.

+1

This would be the crucial factor.

The IG games are unique in their concept and game mechanics and infact there is nothing else around that plays the same way so really it's a niche waiting to be revived.......

Stellaris is somewhat close though. But combat wise it's not.

Please that is a joke xD ... Stellaris has not even a nail of the quests and events IG 2 has, it has no city simulator, no ground battles, no planetary guns vs space combat, the design like adding different weapons on the ships are simple upgrade on IG 2 you can load ships with ground bombs, stealth generators.., diplomacy doesn't work at all, they have no espionage god IG 2 espionage has so many possibilites and the rpg aspect is awesome and stellaris made a huge mistakes like with all 4x RTS games after IG 2 they try to make the battles on the same instance has the map so huge space battles always lag the game.

BTW I'm made a thread on GoG trying to find what really happen to IG 3 development, I have gather more info than here but I have no official inside sources that actually worked on the game.

https://www.gog.com/forum/imperium_galactica_series/does_anyone_know_the_actual_story_of_what_happen_with_ig_3_development

It would be great if you guys could contribute, I do not really participate in steam forums because it always request an email code to login and I'm not a fan of the graphics here.

Ig3 would be amazing it would be an instabuy for me, their is a market for these games and in my opinion none came close to IG 2 , to many 4x games today try to be like MOO2 but always fail, they should forget about trying to recreate the past and inovate for the future.
