FAQ for Realms of Magic

General Game Play

Why did my travelling torch stop working?
If the torch is still equipped on your character sheet, press ‘Z’ to pull it back out.

My character is tired. How do I sleep?
Find a bed or sleeping bag and press ‘E’. Use the sliding bar to select how many hours you would like to sleep. This only works if the character is tired.

How do I remove corpses from the map?
Press ‘E’ to open the corpse inventory. Click “Remove” in the inventory panel to loot all items and remove the corpse from the map.

Why won’t this gate/door stay open?
Some doors are blocked by design and only open from one side. Try to find another way in!

Why is my character moving backwards across the screen?
The character will face the side of the screen the cursor is currently on. Move it and you will walk forwards again.

Why am I walking slowly? (No, I’m not walking backwards)
Have you changed any key bindings? You may have assigned a walk button and pressed it by mistake.

Everyone in this village is dead. Did I miss something? Can I save them?
Not at this time. This is considered a dungeon map and not an event or quest.

Building and Crafting

How do I flip objects like doors, stairs, blocks, and furniture?
Press the ‘E’ key while placing the object you are trying to flip.

How do I place/remove background tiles?
Background tiles are placed using regular blocks. To place them click the right mouse button, and to remove them right click again over the placed block.

How do I adjust already placed workbenches, furniture, etc?
Make sure your multitool is equipped with a hammer and right click the object you wish to replace while the multitool is selected.

How do I equip a new bag?
Bags can be added or swapped out for larger bags on the character page. New bag slots must be unlocked first by using Talent Points gained at level up.

Future Development

Is Realms of Magic going to be multiplayer?
The developers are interested in adding a multiplayer feature, but cannot guarantee it at this time. Check the pinned Roadmap disccusion in the community forums for more information regarding development plans.

Will I lose character data in future updates to Realms of Magic?
Character content will remain during all future updates. However, it is recommended to start new characters at major updates during Early Release to fully experience the updates.

Does Realms of Magic have an official Discord?
While unofficial, a Discord has been created by a community member and developers can be reached there for support. You can find a link in the Steam Community forums by typing Discord into the search bar.

Other Questions

Can I keep my character data on more than one computer?
