Why did I get a free copy of Prismata?
Not that I am complaining of course!

I just checked an old email and saw that I was sent a steam key for Prismata back on April 4th. I remember following the game a few years ago and thinking it looked like a lot of fun. I watched all the videos on the youtube channel and some streams. I don't remember ever backing the kickstarter though so I'm confused why I was suddenly given a Steam key.

Were these keys only sent to people who bought the game (and I just forgot I did or I was sent it by mistake) or was I just lucky and got sent a key for other reasons?

Whatever the case, I was really excited to see an email about Prismata! It looked like a great game back then but then I lost track of it over time and discovering that it is still going strong and that I can play it right now made my day!

The key doesn't include the Founder's Edition DLC or anything like that, it's just early access to the version of the game that will ultimately become free-to-play (or at least that's the plan!)

Sorry, but what about people who bought it before it goes F2P, i mean not really fair, why not to give to all owners after it goes F2P the founder's DLC?

As of now, if it goes F2P you will get nothing as normal buyer (not founder's buyer).

The Founder's DLC includes cosmetics and full single-player campaign content (the 2nd episode will be available soon). F2P players won't have these things.

Yes, but there are 2 versions now on steam and you can buy them both separately: normal one and founder's DLC + normal one.

@devs: so, if you bought normal one without founder's DLC and it's already not cheap btw, will you get a founder's DLC later or you will be simply degraded to F2P player?

If you bought the normal one without the Founder's Edition DLC, email support@lunarchstudios.com with a screenshot of your Steam receipt and we'll be happy to send you a code for the founder's edition benefits.

The intention is that everyone buys the Founder's Edition, there is absolutely no reason to buy the base game only. Unfortunately we can't remove the base game from the store page otherwise we would!

If I receive a key in a trade that does not have the DLC, can I also share a screenshot to get the DLC?

The DLC is for people who paid $25 to buy the game on Steam (or on our website). If you're in that category, email us and we'll take care of you.

We've also given away lots of keys for the free version of Prismata and these don't include the founder's edition perks, so if you bought or traded for a free key, you're not entitled to the DLC.

We've seen some scammers try to sell the free keys on key reseller sites, so if you bought Prismata there then you'll have to ask for a refund.

Well I think you could make a tester's like package which is hidden in shop so you can have closed beta + that founders edition only in shop... At least it could work, but it is late I think...
