Stuck giving my follower commands (Fixed)
I was having Serana pick up some items for me. Now the command crosshair won't go away. Pressing tab and escape only bring up the inventory and pause menu. I can't open doors or talk to any npcs. I don't have a save from before this and I've already dumped too much time into this save to restart. If there's any way to get my game back to normal, please tell me.

Edit: I found out how to fix it. Open console command, target follower, type setfavorstate 1, press tab or escape.

Not that I know of, loading a save from before or restarting are your only options, even if you don't want to hear it.

In future make manual saves regularly.

In Skyrim, we need to avoid QuickSaves and default AutoSaves.

Here's why

I use these below mods/fixes..

* SSE Engine Fixes

If you have SSE Engine Fixes, there should be a setting in the .toml file you can edit to turn quicksaves into full saves. Specifically this line:

RegularQuicksaves = true # Makes quick saves into regular saves

I don't think there's a mod that automatically make full saves for you but until someone made one (or you find one), the quicksave-to-fullsave setting is probably the closest solution to what you're asking for.

* SSE Engine Fixes - Save Corrupt Fix AE (v1.6.353 - 1.6.1170) (.TOML Fixes)[www.nexusmods.com]

* My Minimalistic AutoSave Mod[www.nexusmods.com]
