Best way to install Anniversary Edition
I am about to install Anniversary Edition and have some questions. 1) Does the install overwrite what is in the standard SSE directories, which would then make it hard to go back to the vanilla version ? 2) If I want to do a FULL Backup of SSE before I install which directories do I need to be concerned about ? 3) Any other suggestions ?
Thanks
Jack

AE is just DLC, it doesn't overwrite anything
There is Anniversary Edition of the game. It is still Special Edition. The Anniversary Upgrade is simply DLC for Special Edition, so it doesn't overwrite the base game. All of its files should remain in the appropriate Creations folder. Been a while, so I can't remember the name of it anymore.

"AE" is also an abuse of language used by modders for compatibility indications, in this context it refers to the free update (the one that gave survival and fishing) that upgrade the game to 1.6.+, and SE is version 1.5+

that's probably why he's asking that

Best way to deal with AE is to leave Creation Club Crap out of your game.

Or you could just not get it in the first place.

It ain't for me really.

It's just slop.

I am kinda regretting the purchase tbh.

Is there a way to install w/o creation club stuff?

You can either take it out of the data folder and downgrade to the version before anniversary edition or you could just buy the original Skyrim on Steam.

Once you're online, the Bethesda site appears to give the ability to remove come of the CC content. The menu items at the bottom of the screen appear to be greyed out, but they work.
