is Skyrim Worth Playing and Worth Your Time?
is Skyrim actually worth playing, though? It’s 90% off right now, but is it a game that’s worth the time? I’ve played Red Dead Redemption 2 and enjoyed it, so I’m wondering if Skyrim is a similar level of fun.

Hard to say. For me? YES. For you? Hopefully. Unlike rdr2 you can create hundreds of playstyles with the base game alone. Add in mods and that expands exponentially. As for the story rdr2 is vastly better. You dont play bethesda games for the writing.

You play them for the stories you yourself create in your head.

Gameplay similarities are lukewarm at best but hard to say which has better gameplay. rdr2 suits rdr just like skyrims suits it. Which is more fun base for base is hard to say? Thats where mods come in. There are several engine changing mods out there for combat, magic, story, ai, etc. If you want it it may exist as a mod.

I just woke up so will stop here so i can eat but I would say try it out for 1.5 hours and see. Go for the ae though as it is just MORE for your money. Some of the ae mods are bunk but some are pretty fun.

Ignore my hours played. I have had skyrim from day 1 and play offline overseas alot for business trips. They are technically in the thousands combined across all versions.

What's "worth your time"? I've played lots of games over the years and have been entertained by most of them. Are all of them equally good? Of course not. In your case, by all accounts RDR2 is a masterpiece whereas unmodded Skyrim's writing almost certainly won't measure up. That doesn't mean you won't like Skyrim if you fire it up and accept it on it's own terms.

Honestly if Skyrim isn't worth your time don't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ act like you have /any/ spare time for video games.

A 100% yes. The game is really good. The only limiting factor is the writing at the end of the main story but most of the game is a solid 9.2/10.

Only with mods.
Well over 10,000 hours here with 2,000 of those vanilla. So I guess the game is alright, barely. :104:
The game was a classic when it came out in 2011. Even the remastered version is eight years old. It will not compare to RDR2, or for that matter, Elden Ring, either in terms of graphics or gameplay. But that doesn't mean it's a bad game - just an old game. For $3.99 it is absolutely worth it. There are tons of mods out there that allow you to tweak your experience and customize it, and as I said, it is a classic.
If you like red dead redemption, you'll probably like Skyrim. They're both open worlds with mediocre combat but interesting enough worlds.

However Skyrim doesn't have the cinematography cut scenes and dialogue and story that red dead has, and instead is more about creating your own story. So it differs heavily in that department.

Many Skyrim players don't even bother with the main story as there's a bunch of other stories going on through guilds, DLC and side quests.

I think that skyrim is an amazing game with beautiful writing story and well written characters and with an amazing open world this is the sequel to oblivion and morrowind and daggerfall and arena and all of these games each take place after each other with skyrim taking place 200 years later after oblivion the game also has amazing features such as being able to play as a vampire or a werewolf you can also ride dragons in the game.
