Bypass new game requirement for mods?
I don't make new saves, I play a level 135 character and I like to use mods to add new stuff to explore (combat mods and new lands stuff mainly) but there are some mods that require new game saves because it has to load stuff from scratch. I want to know if I can get the game to reload assets to allow me to play these mods while not having to start a fresh save.

The mod I'm looking at is Ultimate boss fights, which adds unique bosses to seemingly every dungeon, which is probably the ideal mod that I would want to use, but the way it's built it doesn't replace the existing bosses mid play-through, and has to initialize when you start a new game.

My core question is there a way to bypass this? Most probably by forcing assets to reload themselves similar to those modded save-cleaners, giving the world a soft reset without deleting anything not touched by the mod in question?

I once used a save-cleaner, and I noticed a side effect was that it refreshed my potion strength, making it a few percentages less than it was (never done before), leading me to believe that it is possible to refresh this kind of content in the game.

This mod looks really cool and I really want to use it, but making new save games is a certified no-go for me.

No, No and No.

Mod rules state new game required then you need to start a new game.

Just add the mod to a wish list for your next playthrough

SKSE - preset tab - use your current character on a brand new world. Console command Player.setlevel 135 - then just set everything like you have it.

You can't bypass that it WILL mess up your game big time also if you could bypass it why do you think modauthors state it as requirement.

aside from some specific bosses (script tied) you can just wait for a cell reset to have these bosses. It will work in dungeons that have a basic "dungeon boss".

Since you're that high level already, you've done many things in the game already. In that situation, I would advise to check if it is not worth to start a new with a different character? This game has a high replay value and there are quite mods that do improve the replayability.

given the situation I don't think it's too farfetched to find a workaround. It really just depends on whether the mod is strictly loaded when starting a new game or dungeon cells are reset to where it replaces them

If a mod requires a new game, THEN IT REQUIRES A NEW GAME - exactly as stated by others in this thread. And as to save cleaners, they should never be used - they do not work as most people think - and this is even stated by the author of Fallrim's Tools, Markdf in his description page: "...cleaning savefiles is NEVER safe or reliable."

But as to mods requiring a new game, there are no "workarounds," there are no "maybes," there are no "buts" - you must start a new game! Anyone who even suggests that you don't need to when a mod specifically states that a new game is required, either has no clue about what they are talking about or are giving very poor advice.

But then, it is sale time, and the "40 hour experts" are all coming out of the woodwork. Many of them do mean well, but unfortunately, they are just not sufficiently knowledgeable about the game and how it works under the hood to be able to give reliable advice.
Hence, why there is this, from the PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links and References:

If a mod says start a new game then start a new game, a workaround will break something, if you don't want to start a new game then don't use that mod....
Anything else is stupid willfullness on your part.
Also you played 135 levels without the mod ... so why are you so keen to play with it now? Alternatively look for mods that do the same and don't need a new game.

To kind of answer your question

I really like the idea of doing everything there is to do, and becoming the most capable I can be in terms of a character. Now with mods I can take that another step forward. It's super cliche but I have no attachment to the character I play when I start over

I hacked my switch so I could play modded on PC, that was somewhere around level 120. Now I'm trying to play all the good mods
