All my save files are gone.

I was playing earlier, nothing unusual. Decided to load in like ten minutes ago. Every save file is gone, yet they're still in my documents folder?

check you don't have cloud saves active, especially steam cloud saves (it's under properties.... best check both steam client and the game's properties to be safe)

The player doesn't have much luck with Skyrim lately. If it's not bethesda ruining peoples mods, it's steam updates deleting saves.

For some reason all my save files moved here:
D:\Games\Steam\userdata\0\489830\ac\WinMyDocuments\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves
Just copy them from this folder to your regular one:
C:\Users\username\Documents\My games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves

If anyone is having issues with their saves going poof, CHECK HERE. Also remove cloud saving!!

My saves are in the right place, but cannot be loaded in game. I get a message in the top right of the main menu that "Online services are currently disabled. Game update required to connect to Bethesda.net."

Since I've heavily modded the game, I'm not going to download the update through Steam. So does that mean this Skyrim is now unplayable on Steam when modded?
