I. e. Vortex-only, which won't involve renaming files manually and overall copying things?
From nexus page for u XD

Install with Vortex
Click the "Vortex" button in the top-right of this page.
Once installed and enabled, ensure you have deployed it by clicking "Deploy Mods" on the Mods toolbar.
Use the shortcut on the dashboard to start the game with SKSE64.

To be honest, they introduced it not so long ago. Maybe 2-3 months ago.

Also in the vortex there is an option to insert the reshade or enb mods directly into the game folder instead of the data folder.
Well, it doesn't work on Steam Deck, for starts.
It does not fully work on Steam itself since executables mismatch causes... *sigh* something with Win permissions or whatever. Unlike LE variant of SKSE where extra executable was fully optional.
And it still involves going outside both Vortex and Steam to run the game.

@d_cup why did you hijack this thread? Noone mentioned the Steam Deck. You should post your own issues...

Exactly.
Unless you're some military grade farseer, you don't know OP's specs.
And this

is usually a #1 symptom of a failure to run SKSE on Steam Deck simply because there are no other options for non-tinkerers.
(well, no OBVIOUS options)
Since I believe in OP's proficiency with Steam, I'm assuming that, for some reason (be it Steam Deck or other cause) using bundled-in loader is not an option.
And advising Vortex sheepishly, without even trying to find out what's the exact cause in his case, will only make things worse.

I don't know what's going on with the steam deck. A quick search showed (We do not provide support for Steam Deck I'm afraid. Community Manager Posted 22 August 2023). Maybe now they have introduced official support, but I do not know =) On PC I have been using collections for a very long time. There have never been such problems. Even when vortex was downloading skse from the silverlock website. Not so long ago, Vortex started downloading directly from nexusmods. Perhaps u doing smth wrong.

You asked how to install skse via the vortex, you were given the answer. You didn't mention the steam deck yourself. He asked for help in installing mods, he was advised by vortex.

Just checked, just 2 files skse_loader.exe and skse64_1_6_640.dll allow you to launch the game and check the version with the getskseversion command. Therefore, I still think that he does not launch the game through skse_loader.
