Weapon Swing Range Mod?
I’ve heard tell of a mod that adjusts the range of melee weapons to make them more accurate to the actual weapon model/animation.

I guess how it works by default in the game is that the range of melee weapons in a bit more than the actual length of the object.

Thus, there’s been plenty of times where it’ll LOOK like I’m out of the range of an enemy’s swing but then I still get hit.

I’ve mostly used characters armed with shields, wielding one handed (with nothing in the off-hand) or two handed weapons, or bows so I never really noticed it before.

But now I’m using a character who rolls a bound sword in one hand and a spell in the other and this exaggerated weapon range is far more noticeable as I now have to rely on kiting, dodging (using TK Dodge), and generally trying to keep my distance between opportunities to advance and attack with my bound weapon.

Using Poise as well, this has led to many times when I think I’m out of hit range only to be whacked by a two-handed sword/axe/hammer that destroys my poise meter, staggers me, and leaves me wide open for a follow up power attack that deletes 50% - 75% of my health bar and staggers me again or just outright KOs me.

Does anyone know what this mod is called that makes those melee range adjustments?

That came to mind, but doesn’t Precision just deal with locational damage?

Like, if you aim at an enemy’s head you’ll hit their head and cause more damage than if you hit their arm?

Or did they make those range adjustments too?

Took a closer look at Precision, it does a lot more than I thought but it says it still keeps the default range of weapons due to that being common among melee combat games.

You can supposedly change this through Precision but the mod maker says that doing so will make combat more frustrating and increase the amount of times you miss.

Might still give it a try.

precision does a whole bunch of thing including adding real weapon collision, it lets you adjust that collision size in mcm

only if you make the size smaller, which is what you want, but I really don't think this is the mod you heard

Thanks!

I’m gonna give precision a try and see how that is (I’ve been meaning to try it regardless).

I do think your suggestion is the one I saw, if I don’t like what precision does or it continues to bother me so much maybe I’ll try that other one.
