"Note: Achievements Disabled"
...is the message I always got when trying to start the game. What does that mean? How do I re-enable them?

Just download Achievement Mods Enabler

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/245

and xSHADOWMANx's Dll Loader

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3619

and place the files into the correct locations manually. (the common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Plugins\Sumwunn folder and the common\Skyrim Special Edition folder).

Achievements will be work again even on currently modded saves.

Mods disable achievements in Special Edition/Anniversary edition. Install SSE engine fixes, which will re-enable achievements (as well as make other, more important, under-the-hood improvements). https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230

This mod has several prerequisites, and has two files to install (one to the main game folder and one that installs like any other mod) so read the instructions and the modpage carefully. Once installed, start a new game.

there's a savegame on nexusmods that gives you all achivements at once..

It's not actually all that difficult--you seem to have plenty of experience from Oldrim.

If you need a bit of help, install skse64 and then read the section "Base Mods" in this guide to walk you through address library and engine fixes.

Modding your game is a lifestyle, not a one button fix.

Thank you so much for the help!
Don't use achievement enabler. Use skyrim engine fixes. It fixes annoying engine bugs and allows achievements with mods. Better than achievement enabler.

Tried this now and the M is still there and the warning is still showing up. Broken 2024?

You need to be absolutely sure that your skse64 and either Engine Fixes or Achievement Mods enabler are the correct version for whatever SkyrimSE.exe you are using. Both SSE Engine Fixes and Achievement Mods Enabler are current for fully updated SkyrimSE.exe 1.6.1170. If you are not using a fully updated version of SkyrimSE.exe you are on your own for debugging.

If you use Engine Fixes, doublecheck in the mod's configuration files that
EnableAchievementsWIthMods=true

As a note for Achievement Mods Enabler, if you are running the game from skse64 you don't need Shadowman's dll loader as skse has it's own plugin loader now.

Edit: This might help parse a variety of issues with the current game version.

Just checked and it's still working for me. It's the only mod I have outside of the Anniversary Edition / Creation Club content. (Never used SKSE or SSE engine fixes.) Make sure you have all 5 files in the right places.

steamapps > common > Skyrim Special Edition > Data > Plugins > Sumwunn >
  • AchievementsModsEnabler.dll
  • AchievementsModsEnabler.dll_Exports.txt
  • AchievementsModsEnabler.ini
  • DllLoader.ini
common > Skyrim Special Edition >
  • DINPUT8.dll

Can you please be a little clearer?
The one thing I can't stand is manual downloads as you never know what to put where and how.
Now you said to put the "Achievements Mods Enabler" in the "common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Plugins\Sumwunn" file???
That "Plugins\Sumwunn" file is from the xSHADOWMANx's Dll Loader.
Can you explain SPECIFICALLY what to put where?
