Dragon Glitch?

I'm fighting a dragon (can't remember the name), and it just keeps circling me without actually attacking, so it's impossible to land a blow. I tried reloading the game, but it didn't do anything. HELP!

did you try shooting it with a bow or magic? They are "required" to land at about 1/3 or so health, don't know exactly, but until then they often just flap around and breath weapon everything in a giant radius including every goat, mudcrab, slaughterfish or whatever else happens along.

if shooting it does not work, try entering and leaving an instance (shop, cave/dungeon, etc type load screen).

The names don't matter. Less than 5 dragon names matter, the big boss one, the ones you learn the names of as shouts (2), the spoiler one involved in the main quest, maybe one more gets a mention that is important but don't recall an interaction there...

I did try shooting it, but it didn't work. I think I did the second thing you mentioned as well, and it also did nothing.

it happened to me in solstheim. and after an annoying endless fight, i just went inside the thirsk building for the loading screen and when i got back out the dragon was lying on the floor, DEAD.
Try using an area transition for loading screen as well.
