There are 10s of thousands of people playing it right now. Do you want to play it? Then yes, it is worth it. If you do not want to play it, it is not worth it.
Whether or not it is "worth" it depends on what kind of games you enjoy. This one is somewhere inbetween a RPG and an action-game. Action-RPG? Whatever, it still has enough of an RPG aspect, and it can be beefed up with mods.
If you want recommendations I'd suggest you go to Amazon and buy Deus Ex:Human Revolution. Do not get the Director's Edition, it absolutely bites on PC. You can still get Steam keys for the original at Amazon for $10.[www.amazon.com]
You could also try Fallout 4, it's a pretty good game. Get the Game of the Year edition, currently on sale for $10.
These three will get you enjoying your life for only $30.

It doesn't look like you've ever finished a single game, ever, you're not a gamer, you're a tinker, an experimenter, in 4 years none of your titles have even 100 hours in them, and most only have minutes, literal minutes of playtime. 86 in Witcher 3? how much did you even see/ 78 in RDR2? Ugh.
No, dude, you are not an adventure gamer, PACE. And that's fine. If you don't want to be one, don't be one.
But this game? This is not remotely for you, not in the least; you'll spend longer than you have in 80% of the games you played making ONE SUIT of armour and weapons to use, which are only good for about 10-15 levels, and you'll have to update or re-make them... this game is the definition of time-consuming... 60h minimum, and if you attempt to do every DLC and side quest, probably 200h, and if you start modding, you could easily go over 2000h without ever finishing...
Ok, so you are just now trying games. Though Skyrim is an enjoyable game for many, it is a time investment.
As your time in games is low, have you found what kind of games you enjoy? Or are you still trying different genres seeing what you like? If the latter, then I would hold off on Skyrim until you figure out what it is you want to do. Otherwise too high risk Skyrim would just "collect dust" in your game library as you jump to the next shiny.
Im in my 4th or 5th play, and its nothing like the other 3. The have honestly made the game better than when it was on release. Definitely worth hopping in to and exploring.
Do you want to be a mage, archer, or warrior? Some sort of combo? Lots to do in Skyrim...
No clown from me.
