Quest: The Cause

Okay so I played the quest The Cause all the way up to where I have to locate the oblivion gate and defeat Vonos. The problem I’m having with this is that…..he’s already dead. The marker is just displayed over his dead body, so I can’t complete the objective. Going through the portal does nothing either. Am I soft locked out of this quest, or is there a way to fix it?

Open the console and then click on him, then type 'resurrect' without the quotation marks, that might work for you

press the "`" key, just above the TAB key

[Nabinkemper]

Resurrecting a named character will do nothing.

Based on the final step, you have defeated Vonos, the gate is open -

According to the first step of the next quest, you are to loot the body and read the journal
