Need Some Help running Skyrim [SOLVED]
So I recently bought the Skyrim Special Edition with anniversary upgrade but I'm unable to play it. It's running fine but it's opening super zoomed in. I think it is because of my monitor which has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the default launcher is only allowing 16:9 and 16:10.

I have tried changing the resolution to 1024x768 in both the launch options and in SkyrimPrefs.ini but nothing seems to be working here. :steamsad:

My System Specs:
  • Processor : i5 10400F
  • Ram : 8 gb DDR4 3200mhz
  • Graphics Card : AMD Rx 6500 XT
  • Monitor : LG Flatron L1510S (1024x768 @75hz)

I really want to play this game. Any help would be highly appreciated.

On your desktop what are the display settings?
Right click/ display settings/ scale and layout/ display resolution.

You also want to make sure that the FPS is capped to 60. Going beyond that will cause game engine glitching and cause issues with quest script timing.

You could try BethINI. On it's BASIC tab set Resolution to your 4:3 Borderless, Vsync , Lock frame rate, FPS 60. Save and Exit.

The 4:3 resolutions are 640×480, 800×600, 960×720, 1024×768, 1280×960, 1400×1050, 1440×1080, 1600×1200, 1856×1392, 1920×1440, and 2048×1536 and as Corinze mentions keep in line with your desktop res.

Don't select a preset yet or go changing a bunch of stuff until you get past this first issue.

Using BethINI fixed it. Tysm, been dying to play this game. Now I can finally begin my journey in Tamriel. :steamhappy:
