If follower is stuck, it means either their AI is glitched or they are stuck unable to return back on the path (navmesh). If you move away further or do a fast travel out of that cell, they'll typically teleport behind you.
Please use follower framework mods (I recommend NFF or EFF mods) to manage followers. Such mods have functions to track and summon followers, but you can also use dedicated mods to track named NPCs/followers/creatures using mods like 'CS Tag N Track' or 'Where Are You'. Some utility mods like Skyrim Cheat Engine also have option to summon NPCs/followers.
Alternatively, you can use the console command MOVETO to summon your wife or follower or to teleport to them. Console window can be opened in-game using the Tilde (~) hotkey. Make sure you don't use PLACEATME command for such purposes, because it creates a copy of the NPC/follower/object instead.
To summon Serana, use these console commands:
Assuming your wife is Lydia...
To go to Lydia, use this console command:
If your wife is another named NPC, then find her RefID and use it instead in the commands above.

News flash, my dear...
Skyrim IS a game with LOTS of assembly required.
Starting with its UI itself.
There are Dozens (if not Hundreds) of ways for a follower to be bugged, and while the fixes fall into a few dozen methods, they vary a huge amount.
What's needed is knowledge of how they are bugged, what triggers or locations it happens with, and what mods (if any) you have..... From there you can research how to fix the follower, although there is a lot of incorrect information out there.
Then stop whining and start doing some useful steps to tackle the problems you're facing with the game.
Or stop creating bait posts like a bored troll if you ask for help about Skyrim (a game infamous for being buggy and unwieldy out of the box, especially on PC) and then proclaim "I dont play "some assembly required" games",
All I've done is to help you here.
