this is ESO
ESO gameplay is worst among all RPGs, and I'm comparing it with 15+ years old MMORPGs.
What use is lots of lore and different environments/worlds, if the combat is so bad that even kids will find it kiddish and boring?
Bethesda merely keeps adding new expensive DLCs to ESO, without fixing any of the core gameplay issues.
You will feel better playing Morrowind or Oblivion than ESO.
And Skyrim players jumping onto ESO assuming it is Skyrim Online will find their expectations rudely shattered and realize their money to buy ESO was a waste.
There's a reason why the Skyrim Together mod was considered innovative and revolutionary. It is now open-source.
So Bethesda has access to this mod that allows Skyrim to become a multiplayer game.
But will Bethesda invest further to improve and make Skyrim into a fantastic multiplayer game?
Nope.
Because fools (like me) who played and loved Skyrim, and got suckered into buying ESO, are proving to Bethesda that ESO is viable, hence Bethesda stays focused on updating ESO with new DLCs (but same old bad gameplay) and re-releasing same old broken Skyrim on newer platforms.
It doesn't require a subscription anymore, though you do need to still buy the game.
That said it probaly has limitations that make it not worth it. I played SWTOR for a long time, and if you don't have a Sub when your at the end-game it's not really worth it.
Not required to play, but should probably have one if you're serious about playing it.
I played ESO during the closed Beta, it's just another Generic MMO. Cool trailers though, Amazing Chirography in this fight, too bad the game is nothing like it.
