Oh god someone found a console command in a 12 YEAR old game. Also quest items might not register as quest items in certain quest due to the fact that certain items have very specific triggers to advance a quest.

maybe not, however this is hardly the first time this is mentioned so no need to make a new thread about it. It's a readily available tip on the internet. That said it's also NOT a new command it's in most Bethesda games.

My take on this: Do Not Do This if you are new to Skyrim, It Will Kill Your Game Experiance. This is only for those that have played over and over and are looking for something New!

It is a testing room for developers so ideally, outside of BGS employees, only those looking to test out part of a mod that they created or are refining should use the place for anything.

Stick to this rule. Don't use any console commands before you complete the game if you don't want to spoil it. I cheated my way through SE just to get achievements because I recently finished the original game in about 150h of playtime. Didn't want to grind it for the second time after that. Don't use any cheats to skip parts of the game.

Also keep in mind in general console commands are a tool set with the developers in mind ... there are commands that are perfectly fine, but there are some that will have some nasty effects. If you don't know what you're doing stay far from console commands.

Personally I love tinkering with commands, but also feel a need to warn newer players that this one is one of those commands known to cause a lot of potential issues later on in game. It can break a surprising amount of quests to use this method to acquire items. If all you want is the item it is often safer to just spawn the item directly via console rather than going to the qasmoke room. Basically, play however you want, just make sure you are informed of and accept the risks of doing so.

They aren't particularly useful, they aren't particularly interesting, and they aren't relevant.
