Can't screenshot?!

Hi, I can't take screenshots using the prt scr key, it says it saves the image to my Skyrim root folder but it doesn't, the image is nowhere to be found. Anyone know why and how to fix?

I use the Steam client with F12. Not only does it let you take screenshots, but you can upload them to Steam and link them here in the forum:

Taking a screenshot with steam literally lets you find the file on your hdd and use it, when you take screenshots and close the game a window is shown with such options.

Also the PrintScrn key only copies your screen as an image to the clipboard, you have to paste it in a image editing program.

Steam puts my screenshot into the Download folder. Not sure why, but perhaps it is a configurable option.

When you press Print Screen in Skyrim should it tell you in the top-left corner where it saved the file. It might just be a brief info. Anyhow, it saves it as:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ScreenShot0.png

for me. See if you can find it there.

Steam saves SSE screenshots in the following location:
.......\Steam\userdata\19565059\760\remote\489830\screenshots

From there you can just copy the one you want - having a separate folder on your desktop just for temporarily storing those copies until you upload them is a good idea.

Hmm weird for me it saves them initially on the clipboard afterwards I can choose if I want them locally saved or uploaded to my profile

That's what I said, it says where it saves, I check and there's nothing there.

Is the directory writeable for you? You can try starting the game as Administrator and see if this changes anything.

Also check whether you have set the following Skyrim.ini setting:

sScreenShotBaseName=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ScreenShot

Look there or change it to where you want it to point. Note, the last part "\ScreenShot" is the beginning of the filename.

When you have BethINI then see there under its General tab, or get BethINI from nexusmods.com . It is a standalone tool, which provides a GUI to Skyrim's .ini file settings:

Thanx mate. Pitty there is no icon in my registory of this achievement.

By the way, one of the barred on me, is the "steam happy" you published (includin all
other icons i paid for), is allso set "invisable" to me, as being barred, since that day.

At least i am being allowed to post on forums, except on that forum i am banned
for posting "high socioty secrets" for noobs to read :D

Edit: I would though like the abillity to take screanshots though again :)

Edit: of caurce i proved all possible steam functions for me, "that 5 minutes later",
to convince myself i am not hallucinating :)

The question is ... how do i get all my functions, as steam user back again ... or am i
