Been browsing almost all the new mods on nexus past 2 months but I only came across only one mod which doesn't support SE (1.5.9) and it was just a mod about wind physics to your hairs
to me it seems v1.5.97 has a better mod support
I used this in order to fix a bug with Special Edition Script Extender before giving in, do I use BestOfBoth or FullPatcher?
Edit: Only asking because I do wanna use creation club stuff
With regard to downgrading and using current CC content, it absolutely NOT recommended.
As to using Best of Both Worlds which states that you can use current CC content with the old .exe, there is this
"anyone running the game with the current CC content and who has downgraded, is running the game in a broken state because the new content requires the updated executable."

"As to using the old EXE and the new content ... it's basically a broken game courting instability"

As to the menu not appearing, make sure that your Steam account is linked with your Bethesda account.
Okay, so if reverting isn't safe in order to use CC content and see the main menu mod tab, is there a better solution or am I boned out of half of my mods?
as for the smr comment , fair warning but not DEFINITELY gonna break your game !
I downgraded and currently having 400+ mods running no problems yet.
infact I personally preferred to download another mod to get rid of that bethesda.net mods in the pause menu because sometimes I mistakenly click on it instead of the MCM mods menu
We often see people using the same arguments about other game breaking actions: "I've done it and nothing bad happened." That is fine, and if a person chooses to risk it, that is up to them, but they should not be suggesting that others do so. It is called recommending "best practices."
And only Talos knows that what other mods each person is using that may break their game .
I am not denying the possibility , I say fair warning but It's not DEFINITE
The advice posted is based upon literally thousands of hours experience with the game and in helping in the forums, and in knowing how the game works under the hood. Just as smashing your thumb with a hammer will make you forget about the small ache in your toe, that does not mean that anyone should be recommending it or that anyone should do it - even if others have said it works for them.
The issue with the missing menu has been observed before, and there are fixes - I just do not have them at my fingertips right now.

but before adding any mods , if you're suspicious on the downgraded version , just create a new save and play for a while just to make sure of it .
And, as to advice, there is this - as not all advice is created equal - no matter how well intentioned it may be:
