Thats what I call the places where the Random stuff pops. Stuff like Vigalant Fighting Fire Atronarch, Ice and Fire Mages. Stupid dumbass kid trying to rez a wolf. etc.
That's just vanilla. There are certain specific spots in the game where that will occur. It's just a triggered graphic. Some of those spots may be placed near the random encounter locations but that's just coincidence. The two are unrelated.
I don't want to come off like this.
But I have THOUSANDS of hours in this game. This is not some out of the way spot. I pass this spot EVERY Day in game. I passed by it several times that Game Day.
Like i said, there are spots I expect it. Pinecreek Cavern, bridge near Riverwood. A few other places.
Its not a regular occurance (its happened twice in my memory and my memory SUCKS). I am not saying its SIC connected. But that is the Mod that PRIMARILY Alters encounters. So I was asking if anyone else that has SIC has any thing to say about it.
No offense taken.
But you are talking that same kind of graphic, right?
I have both SIC and BVNPC. Been using SIC for years, but it's my first game with BVNPC. Anyway. 200 hours in and i have not seen bat graphics outside of where i would expect. (Like the Riverwood bridge). I am also using immersive encounters and extra encounters this game so i'm not experiencing each individual event as often as normal though.
In thousands of hours with SIC, i've never seen the bat graphic during vampire encounters. I do have hybrid encounters on and the graphic is not something i see around that event. It is possible i've just never noticed them (They only occur at night after all, it is dark) but i feel that's unlikely.
As for this game, I've only had a handful of vampire encounters along the road but no bat graphics (That i've noticed at least).
Are these bats primarily at night, during the day, or both? Far as i know, all the vampire and encounter mods only use vampire encounters during the night. If you're getting bats during the day too, i'd argue it's something else.
What specific encounter spot did you see them?
Encounter Spot west of Greywater Watch and North of Whiteriver Watch east of Whiterun Bridge.
Only other one I can remember is the Falkreath/Markarth Cross roads near Sunderstone Gorge. That one makes sense as if I remember correctly going into the back entrance of the Fort Sunderstone will trigger it.
However there are no occurances near the spot I encountered it lately. Which is why I went.. .thats unusual and remembered other times. I haven't been to riverwood at all this game so It can't be the bridge one with lag.
Didn't go near either cave in the area which I don't think have it normally. WRW I am not sure about. Not sure about either cave, but again, not even close to cave. It was right at the Encounter spot which was empty. Not even occupied by the previous encounter. Though the 2 dead wolves up the road have been there for several days.
Yeah if that's the spot then I'd argue you got good evidence that it's somehow encounter related. I've never passed that spot and not had a new encounter trigger. And there's definitely not any bats nearby normally. (Well, that i know of)
And I doubt npcs can trigger the bats. I have so many patrols going over riverwood bridge i'd be getting spammed...lol. So it's not like the encounter wandered off into a nearby cave. Even if they have bats.
I like problem solving, i've got a nightime save as my most recent, and coc whiterun drops you right at that bridge so i'll try a couple passes at it, see if i can figure it out for you.
Did not see ANY bats during any of the attempts tho so...dunno what's going on.
It seems like Vampire related (which doesn't narrow it down). I have not played Vampires too much but cloak of bats? Mostly the vamps I fight go misty. But I know BV has some weird stuff. But there was no encounter. Checked with Detect spells (Both live and Dead). Could see both dead and live mudcrabs below and the dead Sabrecat on the little island with the chest).
BV NPCs has a configuration, Every thing is kept default except Bloodglass weapons. I disable Extra Effects. I know there is a Bat thing in there for one of the config options.
I don't know. Like I said, not a big deal. Mostly just procrastinating starting a new game.
The only other thing is if you are using Immersive Wenches, the wandering vampire wenches (if enabled) will sometimes have a cloak of bats if attacked - but since they only swirl around the vampire wench NPC, you would know it was them.
Still, it would be interesting to know what is causing it - even if it is no big deal.
That's why I was thinking the Hybrids I religiously disable (along with Malavolant Ghosts and now that they added the option Durzogs and whatever Welwas are.)
Yeah, i'm not a big fan of some of the stuff that made it into the latest update(s) either. I, personally, use SIC primarily for the baby animal spawns.
Though i kinda like the hybrid's as previous character backstories had me attempting to achieve the same thing. But i get why others would want them disabled.
