That pretty much occurs most places where food is placed. Its not ulfric specific.

I have a few OCDish traits which make it hard for me not to literally clear my ingame spaces of things like that and in addition, buckets, wastebaskets, kettles and other sundry things that make no sense.

"My, My, thats a neat humanoid skull, where ever did you get it."

In fact in game I just removed a harvest's worth of fruits and other food items from the Master Bedroom. Cabbages, just piled up in a square open box thing. Right next to the Master Bed. Not in the Cooking area, not in the Storage area, Not on the Eating Tables. Right next to the bed.

Stuff like that boggles my mind.

im going to make an effort to pay more attention to clutter to see what else i can find, its funny to think about

salmonella is going to kill ulfric before the thalmor or empire do
Everyone in Skyrim is a little cracked, the fact that they eat raw meat and store cabbages by the bedside are just some of many cases that prove they are more than a little unhinged.

Svana in Haelga's bunkhouse is one of my favourite characters, do her quest and she swaps between nice greetings and dismissive remarks almost instantly, ♥♥♥♥♥ is bi-polar for sure.

You also notice how near every single beverage is alcoholic? Might explain some of the odd behavior.

Only two I know that aren't.
One is milk, and we all know how Nords feel about that, and the second is Skooma, which is worse than alcohol.

It's nitpicky to most people, but the devil really is in the details. Getting the little things right is the difference between amateur and master.
Of course you should store your cabbages in the bedroom. Keeps them safe. Mice and other pests will be looking in the kitchen and pantry. They would never think to look in the bedroom.
Alcoholic beverage...clean water managed.
Bedside cabbage...intimacy pillow/wedge.
Raw meat on the table...they cut it up and cook it with candles piece by piece due to their rampant paranoia.

Yes, that's how they created Drinkable water during the Dark/Middle Ages.
Water wasn't drinkable, and boiling it only worked for a brief period, while brewing into alcohol limited Bacteria and the like... keeping it drinkable for longer, usually not strong beer except for feast days.

Obviously they didn't read the Terry Pratchett book Feet of Clay, or they wouldn't trust the candles....

Most people in Medieval times drank water downed alcohol, the water was more likely to make you sick.

Anyway, to be serious, do your really expect bethesda to mind such minor details?

"Some believe it is only pandering to the lowest common denominator that can hold the competition in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday details found in the average video game that keeps the normie influence at bay. Small facets of immersion and QOL." - Christopher Weaver

"The old fanbase will burn in the fires of social media influence. Franchises will fall. A new fanbase pedigree will rise. We will drive the machine of business with the remake and the reboot and the bloated fist of the normie." - Robert A. Altman
