Is footprints mod script heavy?
I have to ask because the mod author has no comments or bugs section. Anyone get script lag because of this? Because I installed a week ago I now have regrets of being stuck with it until starting a new game. The reason I installed it was because a texture overhaul required it

Not really. The worst that will happen if there are too many scripts running at the same time, is that the footprints may temporarily not appear - but that's just a temporary things and really does not occur that often (call it a very rare event).

If you are concerned, you might want to install this mod:
SPID for Footprints - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54924
(make sure you also install the required mods for that, as well).

Changes the way the footprint spell is used, so as to reduce any impact on the game.

Footprints is one of those mods that a lot of us simply can't play without.

OP: I usually turn my down to 10 and 10 (default is 50 and something). I mean how many times are you going to have more than 10 NPC's (inlcuding you) making footprins.

Neat. Never knew that existed, Tagged for my next Game Start (Not sure how it would react to an in progress play with the Cloak already running).

Hate and HP, be sure to grab this one too and the optional sand patch. This way everyone wearing anything will have footprints.

If you use an ENB, be sure to gab the optional ENB from the main Footprint mod.

Reading the description, I wouldn't touch that with a 100 foot pole - the author apparently knows NOTHING about how the game handles script and how they are handled in saves, and given the lack of even that basic knowledge, I wouldn't trust anything they wrote. whether it involved scripts or not. (Anyone who recommends removing mods midplaythrough and using Resaver to clean the save and then continue, as that author does, should not be allowed anywhere near your game.)

I would tend to bet that any issues they had with footprints in their game were caused by their own bad practices.

Personally in my mod load, I have never used any "fixes" for Footprints like SPID or anything else, and have never really had any issue with it except for the very very rare instances I described.

Frankly, I would recommend just getting the basic Footprints and the add on for sand. You really do not need anything else.

Interesting I read through all the comments and see what you mean. I've been using it for some time and personally have not had any issues. I'll try to take a pic, once I gather a clan again with different foot types if I remember.
