It will be deadly when you are facing a high level dragon or mage in legendary difficulty, and enemy archers that have some addition perks may kill you with one shot possibly.

thus blocking would also be necessary if you are with one-hand.
Fire based spells might also be viable (Destruction).

You can shout classics like 'Taste Rightious Fire" or when you are laying some undead abomination back down "And back to Oblivion (hell) with yah."

it depends which ones, like mass paralyze yeah, but would a cleric do such a thing? No, but somethings like telekinesis arrow would be fine with the character background.

Also the damages for those arrows are pretty decent when against dragons.

Might sound odd, but illusion? Just for the calm spells. I feel like they are extremely useful and still fits a cleric theme to be able to just stop people from fighting.

Please check out "Forgotten Magic Redone SE", there are a group of spells that lean in on holy stuff, plus the spells can be modified to suit your play style.

Modded or unmodded? Can make a large difference. If vanilla, probably can go off of the Vigilants of Stendar. 1h weapons, block, restoration at a minimum.

I use mods, of note Apocalypse & Ordinator, and they make Restoration very viable on its own. Heck, a Battle Cleric build with those mods gets nuts. Restoration for healing stamina + several other niceties and anti-undead spells, Enchanting so can use the Spellscribe perk (stores a spell to cast when you power attack/bash) on the Apocalypse spell "Lamb of Mara" (heals you a percent of damage done to target). You can then go with whatever melee weapon and armor set up you want and gonna be pretty hard to take down in most instances. Plus have several other restoration magic tools to use as well.
Cleric?
Cleric of which god?

A Cleric of Akatosh might have different views on magic to a cleric of Stendar... or a Cleric of Zenithar (Divine of magic?)
