help | followers won't move when i tell them to follow me (NO MODS)
i completed dragon rising and got lydia, but when i tell her "follow me i need your help" she responds normally and her animations are fine but she won't actually follow me. she just stays in dragonsreach, and when i bought the breezehome (and all of its addons) she relocated herself to it but still wont follow me. she says "lead the way" but just sits in the chair and stares at me like an idiot. tried reloading the save, tried unrelenting force on her, loading a few saves back, pushed her, nothing works. i also tried commanding other followers to follow me (uthgerd the unbroken being one of them) and it's the same thing with them. they respond fine but won't actually follow me.

i'd also like to point out that the "follow me" prompt is the only prompt showing up when i interact with ANY of my followers, i can't ask them to wait somewhere and i can't share items. it's just follow me and the lore options unrelated to any prompts or demands.

i'm not using any mods, no creations, just vanilla + some creation club content. I used some nexus mods (plus vortex) in the past but uninstalled them a long while ago.
any help/ideas are appreciated, thank you!

that's weird, but try to refresh the characters with command 'resurrect 1'

Maybe you're a bad person and they're too afraid to tell you. So they lie & act like nothing happened.

Jokes.

I think you meant 'resetai.' Resurrecting a live NPC may actually cause issues.

Or one could open the console and after selecting the NPC use 'Disable' [enter] followed by 'Enable' [enter].
This probley won't work. But make a hard save (manual, not quick or auto).

Walk up to a guard and punch them. Immediatly sheathe your weapons. Pay the fine and then see what happens with followers (don't have followers in the same cell when you punch the guard, you don't want them getting involved.)

You are right, it should be resetai.
