What is This "Madness" Ore?
I'm not seeing it in the wiki???

No mods. None. No CC content. None (Well, except for the CC content that comes with the Special Edition (survival, fishing, etc.).

I also found a gem I've never seen before. Amber. Not worth a lot, I think it's the least amount for any gem I've seen in the game, but I've been playing Skyrim since not long after release over a decade ago, and I've never seen either of these things. Granted, up until recently most of my playing time was on the "regular" Skyrim (no longer available I don't think) but I've got a couple hundred hours into this one too. Never seen either of these two things. Seems odd I'd see them both for the first time in the same game.

Did Bethesda add something recently? Seems really strange not to see it even in the wiki. But I swear I have absolutely NOT modded this game in any way, shape or form. I was thinking of maybe doing some mods for this play just for some small QOL or cosmetic things, not interested in game changing stuff, but there's so many on Nexus my eyes glaze over after awhile and so I'm just playing "vanilla" (as vanilla as you can be with the Special Edition which does have added CC content). Wondering if the ore is used in conjunction with some other ore or something to make a unique ingot? I dunno, just wondering what it's purpose is.

Thanks for any info.

Oh, almost forgot. Is it normal for a housecarl from one region (White Run), while adventuring with you, to out of the blue offer to be a house steward for another region (Falkreath)? Don't remember that before but my just be forgetting, it's been awhile. Just want to make sure my game isn't bugged and gone mad with this stuff I'm seeing lol.

Madness Ore was added with the Saints and Seducers content which is now part of the base game download after the Anniversary Edition update.

Complete Saints and Seducers and read a note (I forgot where you can find it) then you will be able to unlock the craft of those equipment.

Though I recommend the Champions' armors that are also from CC if you are looking for powerful equips.

they are much easier to obtain
Amber and Madness are both part of Saints and Seducers, which Amber isn't a gem, it's another "ore" to craft with. It makes light gear, while Madness makes heavy gear.

Any follower can become a Steward, doesn't matter which hold they originally a part of.
Wow! Fast responses. THANKS GUYS! Wasn't expecting that in a game this old. Popped back in to ask another question I forgot and thought I'd just edit in the original but I'll just ask here:

What's up with my horse lately? It seems forever he would mostly remain in the area, and to my chagrin often even jump into fights. Now, every battle that happens he runs away and I mean a good distance away. Every time I dismount and engage in a fight now, after it's over it's a ten minute grind to find him again. Is it because I'm not getting up in levels (think I'm level 28 or so now) and the foes are scarier than before to the horse? Heck, I remember him engaging in the first troll I encountered some time ago when I was yelling at the screen "Noooo, stay away from trolls" lol because I didn't want to have to shell out more gold to replace a dead horse (they can die right???).

I dunno, he sure is spooked more easily now and most certainly runs much further away now, very frustrating. They should have had a "call your horse" horn or whistle or something like Two Worlds did way before Skyrim came out.

And as for the thread title, you all say it's part of CC content that comes with the Anniversary Edition. I don't own the Anniversary Edition. Therefore, never downloaded it. Why would it even be on my computer? Or is the Special and Anniversary Editions duplicate downloads and there's just some "unlock" when you actually buy the Anniversary Edition? I dunno, doesn't make sense to me.

But thanks again for your replies. Been some years since I've played and have mostly forgotten things lol.

The update that was released alongside the Anniversary Edition content bundle added a few pieces of Creation Club content in a slightly altered form into a shared file with the base game so one will get it regardless if one spends money on the 'Upgrade' or not.

dude, it's literally all the creation club stuff that is in the 'anniversary dlc', that Bethesda wants to get another wave of fund from fans of the series that haven't buy Anniversary Edition.

Can't really comment on the horse, my horse doesn't seem to run, and will actively aid me in combat. Though I am using the Unicorn from one of the Creations and I don't tend to worry about the thing since it has like 1600 hp and is essential. Normal horses can indeed die.

There is 2 ways around this. Shadowmere from the Dark Brotherhood, which is a lot harder to kill than a normal horse due to her high HP regen does not permanently die, she respawns 10 days after if she somehow gets killed. And Arvak from Dawnguard you can acquire in the Soul Carin is a summonable horse. He will almost sureto despawn as soon as you dismount since his timer will be up, but while no stronger than a normal horse, you can just summon him again. Also even if he runs, summoning him will place him back near you.

Madness ore it is from the creation club item that adds items from oblivion dlc shivering isles it is a ore that has glowing cracks in it this ore it is in oblivion the dlc shivering isles and in it you could make armour from it and amber I think thats also from oblivion dlc shivering isles I think these are the two new ores it added with armour sets and I think weapon sets as well but I can't remember exactly sorry but this is like with dragonborn dlc where there was stalhrim and nordic armors. and the oblivion shivering isles creation club is one of the creation club items that came for free with Anniversary Edition like you already mentioned in the thread.
