How do I get the game past the title screen?
I recently got the game on my windows 11 gaming laptop, after it finished downloading, I obiously went to play it, I realized it wasnt full screen but was fine cause I play Daggerfall the same way. When I got onto the title screen and pressed play the game crashed, not showing anything but my home screen, does anyone know how to fix it?

I played the game earlier today but instead of showing nothing, it showed me a screen saying that the game isnt compatible with windows or has an error, and said to uninstall then reinstall, I did and it showed the same thing, any fixes I could do?

Did you install any mods before playing because mods might be affecting this crashing problem and full screen issue.

I downloaded the creations app but nothing else
there's a few reasons, but it's a fairly modern game, I mean compared to older 32-bit bethesda games like original pre-SE skyrim and fallout 3 etc... 64-bit, still relevant VC runtime, DX11, etc.

hmm you said laptop and an error message, could you do it again and tell us the exact error message when it comes up again?

one thing that is a recurring theme around here, when you have an iGPU on your CPU, and a dedicated gaming GPU, but the iGPU gets detected first, it might say it doesn't have the ability to run on this hardware, but your error said something about something going wrong, and to reinstall, so doubt this isit.. but if you want to check anyway, it'll be under your graphic options in display and/or your control panel app for your GPU...

for non-technical types, Asus put up a howto with screenshots and everything, on how to do this for W10 & 11, on how to set it in both locations... https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1044213/

ONe reason for a crash every time like this I have found out is that when you download a follower that requires the xp32 skeleton mod and you do not have the mod that game will crash right after the beginning logo scene.
Redownload, verify files, and check GPU settings before trying again.

Since you've got Win 11 might want to try compatibility mode for Skyrim. This is the 64 bit version, but it is from 2016. So there might be little bits that don't like each other.

Beyond that, normal update checks for laptop, power settings, and that you don't have anything modded or running in the background.

Is there a way that I could edit the file that is causing the problem, which is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\X3DAUDIO1_7.dll ?

Not sure if there are any others, but that is the file quoted in the error message

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\X3DAUDIO1_7.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system adminstrator or the softwaree vendor for support. Error status0xc000012f

Where could I download it? (if everything else doesn't help)
Ok, wait a second. You said you don't have mods installed, so I doubt this will help.

Let me try to explain some misconceptions you made here:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\X3DAUDIO1_7.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. "
says nothing about the game being incompatible. X3DAUDIO1_7.dll is a DirectX file, not a Skyrim file.

Something with your DirectX installation is wrong. Seeing it's on the forums it seems to be a not-so-rare error. If you follow my link above, it will lead you to the bethesda forum stating that error. There's a link to microsoft for DirectX download.

Follow the instructions there and come back to tell us if it worked.
