Do you think that TESVI will live up to Skyrim's legacy?

Skyrim is special, maybe even a special addition to my happiness (heh) and it has been out a depressingly long time ago when you start looking at the calendar. Love or hate its many re-releases, Skyrim has left its imprint in gaming history.

To-date, there may not be any other game that has had as much modded support as Skyrim. There are so many YT channels that grew specifically around Skyrim and even modding it, some of them still exist today but have become professional streamers who started from Skyrim (like MXR Mods).

I find it hard to imagine after the disaster that was Starfield (and the awful development philosophy of outsourcing almost everything to so many companies) that TESVI will be much different than Starfield. But what is the lack of communication about the next TES game? Give us a bone, we want a bone, we just don't want to be bones by the time it releases.

Do you think that the next Elder Scrolls game will actually live up like Skyrim did or do you think that the golden age of modding an Elder Scroll game is behind us?

I doubt any game can live up to the perceived legacy....
I also doubt Bethesda can make a decent game (as opposed to one keeping up with the legacy).

I can only hope it's not as bad as we all fear...

Seeing how each subsequent TES game was shallower than the previous one, my hopes for TESVI are very slim. Actually, the only thing I worry about is whether it will be easy to mod. The modding community is the only thing keeping the franchise alive, and without it, the game will sink very fast.

Because the modding community didn't like it. The only saving grace was that it's basically Oblivion in space, and that many assets, tools and techniques could be reused. If modders had to invent all that from scratch, there wouldn't be any mods.

well not to burst your bubble or anything but....we will never see TES6 its not going to happen ever , elder scrolls online WAS supposed to be TES6 but they decided to scrap it into an MMO that is garbage. then rumors started again ...we got Starfield....you would be better off modding the crap out of SSE and find a new game to play as well.
now i will say it would be nice to have it but i dont ever expect to see it.
actually been putting alot of time into Enshrouded lately and after full release the mod community will probably jump all over it , there are so many possibilities for them like SSE has.(and more)

1 small issue in your theory they as in Bethesda already confirmed that TES VI is in the works

And since it will be based on the same engine (yuck), we can at least expect it to be a convenient sandbox.

Wherever you are getting your information from, the information that they are posting is just plain wrong. Elder Scrolls Online not only was never meant to be TES VI, it is not even made by the same studio. TES games are made by Bethesda Game Studio, while ESO is made by ZeniMax Online Studios. While both operate under the Bethesda umbrella, they are two completely separate and distinct game design and development entities.

As far as TES VI is concerned, it is currently in development, though no release day has been set, as of yet (which is the norm, for Bethesda).

they said the exact same thing before ESO. just because they say it does not mean were going to get it. you also have to remember that MS runs everything now for Bethesda , so it also needs to be approved by them as well. MS is not going to bail out a company financially and just let them keep doing what they were.

ESO was going to be TES6 but like i said Bethesda scrapped it to Zenimax for them to release. TES6 has been rumored to be coming out several times in the last 5 years alone...even before MS saved them.
