Spell casting and sneak attacks
Was wondering if casting long range spells like ice spike give sneak attack damage buffs?

No they dont, only bows or other weapons, how-ever if u have qyuet casting from the illusion tree, casting a destruction spell, will also increase sneak, as long as ya not detected.

The best skill for this, is hangmans touch, or what-ever the spells called, it absorbs health from the target NPC, so u can sneak, drain, then attack

If you mod Skyrim - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/67613
gives you magic sneak attacks, and lets you choose the bonus modifier

I’ll see if u can find something similar in the Ingame mod manager thank you!
I did a lot of sneak casting with the last character I played. Sadly, no sneak attack bonus damage, but when spells have flight time, you can zip out of view before the spell hits. The baddy, should they survive, will rush to where you cast from and look around before wandering back to where it was - so you can slip back out to cast from that same spot again and repeat. Taking out dragon priests at level 1 took a bit, but was worth it.

It is, i use it a lot, as a dagger user, cant always to a Instakill, and pick pocketing results in getting caught, thus blowing the whole stealth deal, it's also targatable, so u dont disturb other NPC'S, unlike with a fireball.

N.B I jus remembered spells like "choking Grasp" are part of the arcane accessory pack, I think it's still available on the Bsoft MOD site, if not, prob get it from Nexus or some-where.

How-ever the Vamp mode has "Vampiric drain" which operates exactly the same as Choking Grasp, if not as effective, since it only drains a max of 5 health per sec.

U can kinda work around it, using a bow, with "drain life " on it, then revert to daggers or mace and finish him off.
